No you have to have a digital cable to get dolby digital sound and you cant get that through the vcr. for quality sound you will want to use the digital out of tv into stereo, then out of stereo into vcr... hopes this help you..

Where is the hdmi connection?

The Ilo IWT3206 is a CRT type TV; it does have an ATSC tuner to support digital OTA TV signals. It doesn't have an HDMI port. The best input it has is the component video in. There are HDMI to component converters. However, most of them have issues with digital rights management protections (HDCP). The manual for the Ilo IWT3206 is available from the manufacturer (Funai). Their support page is at http://www.funai-corp.com/support/manuals.aspx . The direct link to the manual is http://www.funai-corp.com/support/om/IWT3206.pdf .

I wish that I had better news for you. If you have a different model, please post a comment or a new question.

Ilo tv in spanish need english

To change the menu language of the TV using the remote:

Display the menu screen.
• Press [MENU].
6 menu items will be displayed. The third item will be ENG/ESP/FRA

Select "ENG/ESP/FRA".
• Using [CH up / CH down] buttons, select "[ENG]/ESP/FRA".

Every time you press [VOL up / VOL down] buttons, the language
will be advance to the next. Select the language. When ENG is selected, exit by pressing [MENU]

If you are trying to change the AUDIO of the TV, simply press the [AUDIO] button on the remote. This will advance the selection between MAIN, SAP and MONO. MAIN is the native language of the program (often in stereo), SAP is "secondary audio program" - which is usually a second language, but may be an audio source not related to the picture at all. MONO is monophonic, or a single sound source that is the result of combining the LEFT and RIGHT stereo channels to one output or speaker. This selection is often a downgraded version of the stereo output provided by the MAIN audio selection - but may be useful under certain conditions.

You can review your manual here. Pg. 31 has details for the menu display language selection and pg. 16 has details for audio language selection.

If you found my answer to be helpful, please rate it "very helpful" Thanks & good luck!

Audio output on TV

Sounds like you have it hooked up properly. Be aware that if there is not a digitally encoded signal for surround sound [they don't always do that] you simply won't have surround sound. Usually there is a mode in your receiver/amplifier that will allow you to simulate surround sound. An example of that would be "theater" or "hall" sound. Try it with a DVD known to have surround sound encoding [most of them do] and see if it works that way. If it doesn't then check your owners manual for information about how to make sure that feature is actually turned "on".

What cable do I need to get audio through my tv from the laptop

Assuming your TV has RCA audio input jacks (red/white), you can get a 1/8" stereo mini plug-to-RCA plug. The mini plug would connect to your headphone out jack on computer, and the RCA red/white would go to an audio input on the TV. Be careful with how much volume level you are sending to the TV from the computer. Trial and error, because it's not really common practice. You might have to choose the proper input via the remote/menu on the TV to listen. Be careful. Hope this helps.

On the original TV remote press the "AUDIO" button until it gets to the option "MAIN" and this should get the stereo sound back.

Good luck...

Can I hook up my steroe speakers to the TV? I have an older model

If your older model TV has red and white plugs on the back of it that say something like "Audio Out" or "Output" then YES.

Simply connect a pair of RCA Cables (available any electronics store) from the Audio Out jacks on your tv to the "AUX" input on your stereo.

You cannot power speakers without some kind of stereo/receiver.

If you do have a receiver then you can connect to your "TV INPUT" on the back of your receiver and control the tv volume with your receiver remote.

If your tv does not have those red and white output jacks then there is no practical way for you to connect your speakers.

I am not using cable or dish...what type of antenna should i use to get the most out of the digital conversion...and is the built in converter adequate or do i need converter box?

The specs for this TV shows it has ASTC and NTSC so you do not need a converter box.
Almost all the Digital channels are broadcasted in the UHF band.
When you scan in the channels the VHF numbers will still show but the actually signal will be in the UHF band.
Go to
WWW.TVFOOL.COM and enter your ZIPCODE to get the stations in your area.
