If you are using your microphone through a mixing desk try using the eq section to cut out the feedback frequency. A bad feedback usually occurs around 400k. Ideally you can should use a graphic eq but a big difference can be made using a simple channel eq.

It may affect the tone of your voice but thats the comprimise - a slight change in your voice or an annoying feedback.

Turn down microphone volume (Generally, you do not need to turn the volume up as high as you think. Ask the students to tell you when it is OK.)
Try to stay behind the speakers, (or on the stage area) if possible
Do not go to the spot where feedback occurred

Also, don't "CUP" the microphone with your hands. This usually causes feedback on mics.

This is a great mic, but I actually had one of these lose it's ablility to reject unwanted noises.  During sound-check it was acting as if it was an omni-directional mic, picking up almost as much of everything in the room as the vocalist using it.  I havent figured out what happended to it yet, but will post the problem as soon as I do.

Use a 31 band EQ and dial out the frequency. You can then gain higher volume with less, or no, feedback.

If you're talking about using a D112 in a live situation you need to eq out the frequency that's feeding back.
