Re: Wont connect to internet
You need to reset the router if the lights are flashing. Press the reset button at the back of the router for about 20 seconds then release it. Now unplug the power for 20 mins as well and plug it back in. Make sure your connection is right. PC connected to port 1 and modem to WAN or Internet port.

open Command Prompt, type 'ipconfig/all' and hit Enter. Check Default Gateway, it should be 192.168.1.1, your Netgear device's IP address.
If you are still unable to browse the Internet, ping your router's connection to the PC. Open Command Prompt, type 'ping 192.168.1.1', hit Enter. If your PC is receiving connection from your Netgear device, you will see a message like Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes etc. If there is no connection, you may see the Request timed out message.
The Request timed out error can occur due to two things: (1). incorrect physical connection between your Netgear device and the PC or (2) incorrect wireless network setup & configuration. Recheck and correct the Ethernet connection between your PC and the Netgear device. Also reinstall the TCP/IP stack and update Netgear device driver software.
When done, check back if you can browse the Internet or not. If the problem persists, hard reset your Netgear wireless router
Netgear WGT624 V3 Wireless Router Problems
by BigG2 - January 16, 2007 1:17 AM PST
My wireless connection is not working and i cannot log on to it, I have connected a Netgear WGT624 V3 Wireless Router to my Motorola SurfBoard SB5101E Modem which is connected to Telewest Cable Broadband (internet works fine if i access directly through the modem), on the router the power light is lit and also the internet light flashes rapidly but the wireless light comes on for a couple of seconds and then goes out - i think this is the problem? I have tried logging on to the router to check the wireless settings but cannot access it, i have also tried connecting directly via LAN but cannot get this to work either although i am not sure if i have connected it correctly?
Any ideas/comments/advice is very much appreciated!!
In Netgear routers if the tick light is on that mean there are some issues in the router. Normal by resetting the router to factory default can be solve these issues. Please follow the steps below to reset the router.
1. Locate the reset hole at the back of the router. 2. Press the reset button with the help of pen or a pointed object for 15 seconds. 3. Take out the power cable without releasing the reset button. 4. Plug the power back cable without releasing the reset button. 5. Hold the button for 15 more seconds and then release it. 6. Take out the power and plug it back and check the status.
Flashing power light is a sign of a bad router , what we can do to correct this is to reset the router to do this press and hold the reset button of the router for 15 seconds while power is ON and then after that reconfigure the router you can run the setup CD or manually reconfigure it.......
