Question about Polycom VSX 7000 Video Conference

VSX7000 no near end vido

Hi.. We have for first time used VSX7000 over IP for 8 hours VC continuous from India to UK over company IP. this work OK for firest few hours later, video started freeze and after some time of continuous use the far end could not see the video of users at India. Does the camera lense has any saturation point defined or has any limiations. this is the first time we used the VC for such long hours. Pls. suggest any workaround for above observations

    Hi We have been using this device on Monday and prior to this without any security features disturbed/modified, all of sudden on Monday during VC session the near end video goes blue screen.



    so you really find if any security setting would have been disturbed during the VC, if so how should I check this.



    Pls. walk down me with the procedure.

    We have tested all the options stated here, still no go. Could some tell me what is the cost of camera alone for VSX7000. And is there any check if we can find the functioining of CODEC. Any Polycom authorised service centers in India. Pls. let me know ASAP. I don't think this forum would be of any help.

May I offer a different perspective, if it were security issue, then at the onset, at the very start, you already would have certain limitations/restrictions.

Based on your description, the most prominent factor is the length of time of usage. Prolonged high bandwidth usage subjects the equipment to constant heat built-up. Might your problem be hardware, specifically, ventilation?

I think it can be solve by keeping it for rest for some more hours or it may be due to some connection failure.thank you

How long is my Trio supposed to play? I'm only getting 4 hours on a full charge.


As per the company specifications it should provide up to 8 Hours of Continuous Playback. I'd suggest that you set the light out time at 10 seconds keep power saving mode and reduce the brightness. Also dont play at full volume.

This will help you to increase the playback time. Though not up to 8 hours. Make sure not to overcharge the battery.

Also the video playback time is 3-4 hours. As you have not specified whether you are reffering to audio or video playback time, so I am assuming its audio playback time. If its video or mixed then your player is ok..

This will work for setting a new greeting as well, you can use numbers 1,2,3 etc for the greeting numbers to set them at different times of day in the table.

I keep getting an error message when i try to login in it either says email incorrect or password incorrect,, when i try to set up new email i get error


Hi the problem is not with your password so dont change any settings ok the problem is not your end everybody else is having the same problem, sony are having some down time at the minute to update their servers and software so just bare with them for a couple of hours and it will be back on shortly.
dont try changing any settings as the problem is their end not yours

let me know if you need further assistance or if it still not working in a couple of hours.

their are loads of people asking the same question in the last hour so you are not the only one, you could try going to the sony ps3 web site and check on their for any down time,

i have just got through to sony and they are doing maintenance on the network so just bare with them and it should be back on shortly ok

i just found out the network is down for 12 hours some lucky people may sign in but will soon be cut off its down till 23:30pm GMT time as im in UK time here is now 19:28 so their is another 4 hours left of down time

Hi,

1. Connect your router to the telephone line using the leads and microfilters supplied.

2. Now connect the router to at least one computer via an Ethernet lead (we do not recommend using the USB option). The network connection on the computer should be set to automatically look up an IP Address via DHCP (don't worry - if you're using a modern version of Windows and you've never used your network connection before, it's most likely already set up to do this).

3. On the computer connected to the router, load your internet web browser and visit the following internet address: http://192.168.1.1.

4. Within your web browser you should see a screen asking you to enter your password. By default Freeola Support configure Zyxel routers to use the password admin, however if you have performed a factory reset on your router the password will be 1234. Enter this and click to continue.

5. A new page should appear. Click on the option 'Connection Setup' to continue.

6. Make sure that the settings are as listed below. These are the standard settings for most UK-based service providers.

• Mode should be set to Routing
• Enscapulation should be set to PPPoA
• Multiplux set to VC
• VPI set to 0
• VCI set to 38

7. Click on Next button to save this information and continue with the setup. Enter your Freeola supplied username and password in the relevant fields, the username will be in the form of sr0123456@adsl.enta.net. This information is shown on the activation information sheet we sent with your direct debit forms, and will also have been sent to you via e-mail in the time before your activation. If you are unable to find either of these you can access this information by selecting 'Broadband Details and Usage' from within your MyFreeola Control Panel.

8. Please ensure the following information is also selected on this page:

• IP Address should be set to 'Obtain an IP Address Automatically'
• Connection should be set to 'Nailed-Up Connection'
• Network Address Translation should be set to 'SUA Only'

9. Select Next at the bottom of the page, check that the details are correct then click 'Save Settings' to continue.

10. Your Zyxel router should now be connected to the internet

for video conferencing at such long durations over IP, it is a MUSSSST to have dedicated stable bandwidth at all the locations.if that fails, symptons like the one u experieced are possible.this will generally happen during working hours when bandwith usage by pc's is high!!!!!

Can't get to the home screen


I've just solved that problem in the VSX 7000 of my girlfriend's Job.

Your VSX7000 has at least 4 video outputs, 1 for VGA and Supervideo 1 and Supervideo 2.

Firstly you should try VGA connector, because the main menu may be there, so you could change the configuracion.

If you can't see main screen in any of the output connectors you'll have to use the http tool.

In your internet browser enter the camera IP address, and you'll get the Web Interface of the VSX7000.

It will prompt you for user & password, the default options are "Admin" and your VSX7000 serial number (14 digits) you can find this number under the camera.

Once you're in the Web Main Menu, click on Site Map. There you can choose what you want to see in the screen of Monitor1 (My menus are in Spanish, maybe your menu says something like "screens" but I'm sure you'll find it)

If you choose Monitor/Screen 1 as Svideo, and select it as output for Local, Remote and Content you should see the Main Menu after the VSX7000 Reboots.

I hope it would be useful for you, if you have any problem with this let me know... This VSX7000 is working fine now, so yours should work!
