Hey mate, sorry I was making coffee.. I just checked some forums and apparently the XL has no reset button.. pfff.. but to reset on these or later models, just hold down the power button for 15 seconds.
try that..
i'll definitely still be here, if you need a second opinion.
good luck this time hopefully hoho

that's the reset walkthrough, with pictures..
if that doesn't help, you have to try and install tomtom HOME, again, i'm afraid..

see if anything happens with that link..

if you dont have a reset button or a memory card slot, then maybe it isnt an XL One? You can choose from various models in that page..

You have to download the latest version of Home and re-install it.That will fix the blinking X. When you are done with the install, make
sure you use the software disconnect on your computer before
disconnecting the USB cable. That is the likely cause of the error you
    try that

What you do, there is a slot above where you plug in your Ps2 controller. That's where you put the memory card, i highly recommend the 8MB memory card.
if that doesn't work blow in the memory card slot and or reset the consle by tapping the power button.

Forgot the code how can i reset it

  1. Open the telephone dialler by pressing the software button on the bottom left of the front screen
  2. Type *#7370#
  3. You'll be asked if you want to restore all of the original settings and warned that the phone will restart. Choose yes.
  4. Now you'll be asked to enter the lock code. Enter 00000000 as the code. That's eight zeros.
  5. Click the OK button and the phone will reset. This takes some time so be patient.
  6. Be aware that the phone memory, the hard drive and any inserted memory cards will all be wiped clean so back up anything you need to keep either to a PC or to a memory card (don't forget to remove the memory card before the reset).

I have a Philips PhotoFrame - SPF3408/G7 (SPF3408T/G7). When plugged in no picture comes on screen. Screen does not light up. I viewed pictures yesterday - but - I don't get anything today. I know...

Keep in mind that Digital Photo Frame can display the same photo continuously for 1000 hours without any damage to the LCD screen.
If you can enter to the settitgn menu, first make sure the system is properly powered. Then use a pin to trigger the reset button located on the side of the power button on the back to restore the system...

If this isnt work try...
  1. Load all the photos you want to upload to the Photo Frame in the root directory of your memory card.
  2. Power off your Photo Frame by pressing the Power button.
  3. Insert the memory card into the slot in the frame.
A For a Compact Flash card, firmly slide card in the larger slot end first and face down.
B For an xD, SD, MMC, or Memory Stick card slide card in the smaller slot end first and face up until it locks into place.

  1. Restart Photo Frame by pressing the Power button.
  2. After a few seconds, all photos in the root directory of the memory card will be automatically added to Photo Frame. The root directory on memory card will not be emptied after this operation.

Please do not remove the memory card just after inserting it in Photo Frame or when Photo Frame is counting the Photo.
Wait until the screen is stable.

NOTE: This operation does not apply to photos in sub-directories.

If anyone of this procedures work fine, I suggest contact your local service (check if even is underwarranty).

Good luck.

Nikon d5000 control buttons not functioning. Reset button pressed & reset clock display appears but cannot use any controls. If I reset again with camera on, I get back to display of photo but cannot...

Just found this on the Nikon support website:-

My D5000 does not seem to respond to controls. Can I reset the camera?

In extremely rare instances, unusual characters may appear in the monitor and the camera may stop functioning. In most cases, this phenomenon is caused by a strong external static charge. Turn the camera off, remove and reinsert the battery, taking care to avoid burns, and turn the camera on again, or if you are using an AC adapter (available separately), disconnect and reconnect the adapter and turn the camera on again.
If the problem persists, turn the camera off, open the memory card slot cover, and using a paper clip, gently press the reset button by the memory card slot. ( NOTE: This will also reset the camera clock. Also note that disconnecting the power source or pressing the reset button may result in loss of any data not recorded to the memory card at the time the problem occurred. Data already recorded to the card will not be affected. In the event of continued malfunction, contact your retailer or Nikon-authorized service representative.

There's more info here:-

Just type D5000 in the search box

Freezing at the "HP iPAQ Pocket PC start-up" and won't advance any further. (think that it pushed up against something in my bag, and perhaps maxed the memory?). Not at a point where ActiveSync can...

I had same problem. Finally got mine sorted!!

Try a full reset. Hold the quick launch button and the rotate screen button simultaneously (top and bottom of 4 buttons on left of device) and then use stylis to press in the reset button (on top edge just left of SD card slot). Keep depressed until it resets then release the 2 buttons and then release reset button.

It will appear to do the same but it tells you at the bottom it is doing a reboot or something. After 30 secs or so it then goes past and gets to the screen align screen.

You might loss settings but it worked for me
