It is possible you are using the wrong type of battery. A lot of electronics require you to use either Lithium-Ion or less powerful ones. I had this happen once by putting in batteries that were the right size, but were meant for more powerful devices. If you have a cheap set of the right size batteries laying around that are a different type, try those.
There is a software program call proximus that will allow you to control your IR receiver with the necessary remote codes for the 9537. it\'s a pain to figure out . but it does work. I use mine with Orbitron satellite tracking software to follow Ham radio satellites.
Hi, am pretty sure the problem you are encountering is a " battery backup " issue. Any time you "save " a setting in a peice of electronics this is accomplished by way of some sort of memory ( powered by either a rechargable battery somewhere on the circuit board or what's know as a storage capacitor-set apart if not by it's looks then from its markings, Farads or F versus the standard Micro-Farads-Mf or pico farads,Pf. When this little device ( around $10 if capacitor vs. battery- little less) fails everything works normal except when you power off you lose your settings( or in your case switch patterns ). Thanks for asking FixYa, I hope this was of some help, Good luck,Prodzilla
