I have a sanyo dp46848 TV that turned off and won't turn on. There's no lights, sound nothing. What happened

Did you have a power surge or the lights went out? Many times this will cause the switching power supply to fail. Very easy to change out. If you are good with electronic you can take a shot at replacing blown parts, mainly electrolytic caps or maybe burned diodes. Contact Jimmys tv repair if in USA. They carry almost all parts.

42 inch flat screen sanyo wont power on wont do nothing bought 2 years ago

Power surges, such as those caused during lightning storms, can often cause power supplies in electronics to fail. Sometimes, if you're lucky, the manufacturer will have placed a protection fuse in the power supply which can be replaced after a surge. If there is no such fuse, the power supply typically will need to be replaced for the equipment to regain function.

It is VERY IMPORTANT to use SURGE PROTECTORS on all electronics, especially if you live in an area where thunderstorms are commonplace. This will protect your electronics from most (not all) surges that would otherwise zap them into failure.

I had a power surge my TV, DVD player and my Direct TV box were all hooked to the power surge strip. After the power surge only my TV would not work. I have tried the 30 sec power off but still nothing

Hello, Some UPS have surge protection and come with guarantee insurance for up to a million dollars. Use one of these and if it happens again you have someone to file a claim with.

We just had a lightning storm come through which knocked out the power. Once the power came on we tried turning on our sanyo LCD 24k40 tv it wouldn't come on. How do we fix it

I've checked on line for a schematic of this TV but was unsuccessful but I suspect it is one of two problems.
1) A fuse inside the TV was blown from a power surge caused by the storm. If you can locate it pull it out and look to see if it looks blackened (even a little) or if the wire inside is broken. This would indicate the fuse did it's job and stopped the power from burning out the whole TV. All of these fuses are available at your local electronics store or Radio Shack if you have one nearby.
2) The power supply on the TV was hit by the surge and burned out. There is no simple solution to this problem as the power supply would need to be replaced and the only way to do this is to hire a qualified TV repair service. If you happen to be good at soldering and understand electronics you could do this yourself after buying the power supply on line. I checked online and the part is about $60-70 USD.
There is a possibility that the power surge could have fried one of the circuit boards and if that's the case then you would have to weigh how much you want to pay to repair the unit after having a repair service estimate the work. I feel pretty strongly that you have one of the other two issues I listed since you didn't mention any other items in your home that were damaged at the same time. If there were more items then I would suspect the power surge would have been much more massive and likely caused considerable damage but since not then the damage would be minor leading to my previous conclusion.

My Sanyo DP32648 was plugged into a surge suppressor and during a lightning storm the TV turned off. The DVD player, stereo and the clock are all working fine, and were still plugged into the same surge...

If you look at the power supply board as shown in the picture: http://assets.shopjimmy.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/5e06319eda06f020e43594a9c230972d/s/j/sjdps153ap1a.jpg

There is a main fuse on the top left of the board covered by black shrink tubing, SLO-BLO 4A 250V. Check it out to see if it is blown.

50 inch Sanyo Vizon Plasma TV. Has sound but no picture for last few days. 2 years old

This set has LG insides, it will have failed on either the Y-Sustain PCB or the Z-Sustain PCB.

Quite common.

Repair estimates should be $250 - £350 depending on which has failed.

Stick it on eBay, it will fetch good money faulty.

Do you have a user manual? Look for the instruction how to reset your tv. Try to plug your tv to other outlet, Chech the AC voltage if compatible to your tv. If dosnt work you need a repairman to fix it.
