Cannon ZR60 lines on screen and in viewfinder

Our camera has been working great, but just today we had a problem. We tried to playback and nothing was on the screen (not even black, just blue). We realized the battery was low so we plugged it in to charge.

Now it is playing back, but with multi-coloured lines (red and green) across the screen. I haven't tried plugging it into the t.v. to see if it's on that too because I need to wait for the battery to charge.

Any suggestions please? (This is our second cannon-we really liked the first and this one we've only had a short time.)
