Replaced, lamp, ballast and color wheel. Picture is ok for a few minutes, then screen goes black and all 3 indicator lights flash. Repeated efforts to turn the set on produce varying results. After turning it on 20 to 30 times, picture would be ok for awhile. Then vertical, pixalated lines would appear over picture. How can this be fixed?
If you can post a picture of what the lines are I can assist with the possible causes. I would assume digital board or DMD/ light engine
But a pic would help make it easier to figure out whats going on with the set.Respond to this same post for assistance.
To Sonny Berry: Thanks for the prompt reply to my problem. The reason I call myself No Tech is because I usually have no clue as to what I am doing. I'm afraid I can not provide you with a picture because the only camera I have is my cell phone. Also, I watched TV last night and vertical lines did not appear. I have DirecTV satellite service. My TV, even since new, has a delay when changing channels or if a show/movie switches to a different scene, the screen goes black momentarily and then everything is OK. Since I replaced the color wheel 3 days ago it seems when channels are changed or scene changes, the TV goes black and stays black. The blackouts are very sporadic. Sometimes the 3 indicator lights on the TV start to blink and hitting the 'on' button on the remote works. It could stay ok for a few minutes or hours. At other times the screen goes black and 3 lights do not blink. I have to turn the TV off completely and then turn it back on. I watched TV for about 4 hrs. last night, repeating the aforementioned steps whenever there was a blackout. The vertical lines did not show up. I'm thinking about switching out my HDMI cable to the DirecTV receiver. Again, most of my methods are trial and error. Thanks for your help. Sorry I couldn't get you a picture of the lines.
I have had issues where the analog board could cause weird symptoms that would appear randomly. I would try resetting all the wire connectors on both the Digital and Analog boards.
