Can't record on cassette deck from lapel mike as Pastor preachs service.

Does the deck have an input for a microphone?

If not, buy a microphone pre-amp. Or a recorder that has one built-in.

How do I get it to record a voice?

Many portable 'boombox' recorders do not include a microphone for recording ambient sound, but can only record from one internal source to another, like radio or CD to Cassettte. Some do include an input jack for microphones or other audio sources, but you'll need to check your device's specs/ports to be sure.

I have a Technics Double Cassette Deck RS-TR212. On the rear it has Output and Input connections. Output goes off to the Amplifier. Can the Input be used to record or play from a record Turntable? I have...

your receiver has (or should have) input and output connections,, your turntable needs to be hooked to the receiver,, then with the output cables that feed your cassette player you need to go, in to out and out to in ( receiver output to the input of the tape player, and out of the tape player to the in on the receiver, while playing a record if you hit record on the tape player it will record the record, depending on the receiver it will show you the meter readings for either the in or out,, they vary

Difficulty with recording

It sounds like you have connected the two correctly. I can only imagine that you need to check that the hifi source selector is switched to that line-in, it may be referred to as AUX. Check that the recording level control is not at zero on the hifi and if there is a volume control for line-out on the tascam. If you are able to listen to the recording on via the hifi then you are halfway there even if it doesn't get to the hifi recorder. If your hifi is a seperates system then you could try plugging the tascam in to the CD input on the amplifier.
