First you know the mark of your Desktop PC, it is DAEWOO. You have received a book whit it to tell you whitch model it is or a serial nummer. Go to DAEWOO website and see if they are the different drivers for your model of PC. If no you must open the case of the computer and see the materials inside. for each components as VIDEO CARD, SOUND CARD,...note the mark an type or serial nummer and go to the website of the constructor to download the right driver , for you choose WINDOWS XP.
If your plan is to install VISTA you must have drivers for VISTA.
A thing that can allways help you is the system information whicht detailled your hardware configuration, the name of each component, modele and the driver installed.
I hope this help you.

I have installed sp3 but audio drivers are older version of xp.hence not working and sound doesnt detect from that s/w.

Check your manufacturer's website for an updated driver. It may be a challenge to find one since you have Windows XP on your computer. If you can provide the model of your computer and the type of sound card you have so that I can search for a more compatible driver for your application.

Sound card not recognized by the system. Had this problems since I've had to reload windows XP with a reformat drive c:

Hello.
1st Did you reinstall the sound card drivers?
they can be dowloaded from the manufacture websight.
2nd Is sound devices listed in device manager.
If not, you may need to remove panel from cpu unplug pc first.
Remove sound card and install it into another open slot.
If slot is not available put back into original slot.

reboot pc.reinstall sound card drivers.

I have been having a problem lately with my desktop pc,windows xp

Try running the system in VGA mode.
I assume this is a windows machine.
So hit f8 just before the loading Windows screen comes up. and choose Safe mode .
Then set your video card properties to VGA and reboot, that should get you back into windows.
once in, reload your video card drivers.
All should be good...

If your computer is still covered by warranty, call or email Compaq and ask for their assistance. They will be able to fix the problem for free or a very low price. If you do NOT have the warranty, then you may do the following:

This is because the video card you have is corrupted. If the computer won't even turn on from the start and it just beeps, then you need a new or replacement video card.

If windows xp loads, and then the monitor goes blank and the system beeps, try reloading XP again, this time format the entire Hard Drive, and install the Video Card drivers the first thing you do when your system starts.

Take you computer to a repair shop to test the video card and make sure it works. If you have another PC, then take the video card out of the PC and put it in the other (go online if you need help with that). If that doesn't work, then you have a broken video card.
