Toshiba satellite pro 600 won't boot up

When i turn on this laptop the toshiba logo appears right under it says
press F12 for boot device selection. Then nothing for several minutes but if left alone a screen comes up(i think it tries to bootup) says PXE-E53 No boot filename received then says PXE-MOF exiting 1234F.I just bought this second hand it was supposed to be a refurb. in excellent cond. when i got it i turned it on to make sure it worked it booted fine turned it on a few days later to try to get online and install anti-virus, got on line for about 2 minutes then a blue screen appeared telling me some error( don't recall) and to shut it down and to reboot. I did and that's where we are. This was supposed to be a Christmas gift for my 14 year old daughter. I contacted the person I got it from they say they will send me the WinXP disk but I don't know if that's gonna fix it. Please tell me what I need to do to fix this Christmas is almost here, and I can't afford to get a another one. PLEASE HELP ME SAVE CHRISTMAS PLEASE!!

If you get this error in a black screen before windows xp can boot up....
CLIENT MAC ADDR: xxxxxxx GUID: xxxxxxxxxx
PXE-E53: no boot filename recived
PXE-MOF: exiting intel PXE Rom
Your network card's settings in bios have somehow been changed. PXE means Pre-Execution Enviroment. In other words, it allows your network card to connect to a network server to pull operating system images off the network and other files without having an operating system installed.
The Fix,
Go into BIOS press F2 or F12 whatever your PC's screen at bootup says. In Bios, reset your bios settings to the default bios settings, or original settings. If nothing else fixed it. Windows Recovery cd will not fix it, because you cannot boot windows if this error is still occuring, Your network card will keep prompting DHCP to search for a network. Its a bios function not a windows function. Reset your bios settings to the default.

Toshiba boot screen won't appear when turned on

It will help if you mention the Toshiba model so we can ascertain which BIOS is running. But in general, take the USB out of the slot, and then when the machine starts up, press F2 when you see the prompt.
Alternatively if you do not see the prompt screen, press the ESC key for 3 seconds immediatley as you start the machine and then F1- that should present you with the Setup screen

Linux mint 12 won't boot from CD

Restart your computer, press repetedly a key to enter BIOS, normally Del, go to Advanced BIOS Features probably and change to boot primarly from CD/DVD (1st Boot Device CD/DVD , or something like that), save and exit BIOS, and restart your computer with Linux Mint CD inside. Be aware that if you make wrong changes in BIOS, you could damage your computer.

I can't boot my CD XP,boot to other devices too.. can u help me?

You can select an alternate boot device by pressing F10 or F12 as the Toshiba is booting up. You will get a list of boot devices, move the left or right arrow to select the device you want to boot.
OR
Go into the BIOS configuration and change the boot order of the devices your want to boot up with.

My Toshiba Satellite pro s300 ez2501 , is being stuck and fan should run fastly with rough sound, we cant do any thing at this time, only function key can work but nothing will happened.

This is an open ended question as I am not aware of your problem, however,
Disconnect your power supply and remove the battery.
Refit the battery and plug in the AC adaptor, check the power light and battery light are illuminated.
Keep disconnect any periferals, (USB devices) and ensure the DVD drawer is empty. Press the power button. The POST should now start up flashing a line of led's across the top of the keyboard first followed by the hard drive light.
The BIOS F2 or F12 choice screen will now appear. If it doesn't the laptop hasn't completed POST and can go no further however, if it gets that far;
Press F12 and select Hard Drive for the boot device, the laptop will then try and boot from the hard drive, just as the boot chioce menu dissapears press F8, this will opem a further menu allowing you to repair your system. This, if selected, will collect data stored on drive E and repair the main system putting the OS back as it was when you first purchased the machine.
If that won't work or there is a corrupt file or serious error, you will require an OS system disk.
Place the System disk in the DVD drive, press power until the system tries to boot and when you get to the boot selection menu, press F12 again but select CD/DVD as the boot drive.
Follow my last instructions again and you will have a fresh/repaired system and a working laptop again.
When all is OK go to www.computers.toshiba-europe.com and let toshiba download and install the latest drivers and BIOS.
Hope that helps.
