I have hitachi 42pd5200. No sound I recently moved house & speakers were thrown out by mistake. What speakers do I need to buy that will work please

The output from the TV should be 6 Ohm, 12 Watt. You can use any speakers with same or higher rating e.g. 8 Ohm, 15 Watt. Don't use speakers with a lower rating e.g. 4 Ohm as this will put too high a load on the speaker driver circuit.

Wiring a crossfire vr602 at 4ohm

OK what you are saying now is that your speakers are dual voice coil; models? 4 Ohms per Coil? I have always used single 4 Ohm Voice ciol speakers since amps are mostly based on 4 Ohm outputs. but you can get 8 Ohm dual voice coil subs also. With 8 Ohms per coil you can get 4 Ohms if you parallel the wires. What is best for you and will get you the most stable power and still will be in the specs of that amp is to run the amp in BRIDGED MODE running each subs voice coils in series with each other then run those 2 subs in parallel to the amplifier giving it a 4 Ohm load. So, your will have two sets of wires from your amp 1 for each speaker. Then you will take a short piece of wire that will connect the + to the - of each voice coil then hook up the wires from your amp to each sub What it will be is 4 Ohms + 4 Ohms = 8 Ohms per speaker the 8 Ohms in parallel each speaker to the Bridged amp output using just the + from one channel and the - from the other will give you a total of 4 ohms and power out put of 600 Watts so that ends up being 150 watts per voice coil or 300 watts each speaker

How do I hook-up 2 center channel speakers to a single center channel amplifier output?

Since you have Only one common main output, you can hook up your speaker, its either in series or parallel connection depending on the impedance in your amplifier, impedance in OHMS,(8ohms/4 ohms/16 ohms) please see the impedance level at the speaker terminals of your amplifier,
Thank you,

Wiring speakers to 2 ohm for most power

If you hook 2-4 ohm speakers in parallel that will divide Z into 2 ohms. That will pull a lot of power and drive hard the amp.
So if you have 4 channel outputs and had 8 speakers that would be the same. If you have 4 speakers and 2 outputs then 2 per output or if you have an odd number you would have to put one in series with the other 2.
Series means you hook output + to spkr+ then spkr- to spkr+ of the next, while parallel is keep the same polarity across them and in not so much of a loop. I hope this helps.

I have a budda superdrive 30 II amp and have a setting question. I made a 2-12 cabinet to hook to this amp. Each speaker is 4 ohms. They are wired to their own output jack. My amp has 2 outputs for...

You best rewire the cabinet to put the two speakers in series. Wire one speaker plus to minus of the other and bring the other lead, one from each speaker to your jack on the cabinet. The amp output impedance is what is set on the switch... for two 8 ohm speakers you would use both jacks to the two speakers BUT ssince you have 4 ohm speakers the ONLY option is for two in series and set the switch to 8 ohms. The amp is ONLY 30 Watts so don't expect too much sound output... You should get a nice CLEAN sound at a reasonable level. If you drive the amp too hard it will clip and you will get garbage.

I have an Onkyo A-7055 amd want to hook up two speakers. Looks like a dozen connectors in the back of the unit... which ones to use. If I experiment is there a chance I could blow out the unit?

Do you mean you want to connect 2 pairs of speakers, or just 2 speakers like you say in your question? There are 4 pairs of screws on the back of your amplifier on the upper right side of the rear panel near the fuse cap and the AC outlets. Each pair of screws will be connected to one speaker. Your Onkyo can be connected to 4 speakers. If you want to connect only 2 speakers, use the screws labeled "SPEAKER A" and connect the speakers to the left and right channels, and make sure you connect the + speaker wire to the screw with the red marking around it. Connect your other speakers the same way, one speaker per pair of screws.

I have two type-rs hooked up to a mrp-m1000 and its not hitting hard at all! but when one is hooked up it hits harder than two... so is it the way its hooked up or do i need another mrp-m1000 amp? or can i...

If the speakers are rated at 500W or greater, then you'll need two amps to get their full potential. When you connect two to a single 500W amp, each speaker only gets a max of 250W. Also, check the ohm rating for the outputs of the amp and the ohm rating of the speakers as well. Unmatches speaker/amp impendence also results in poor performance. If you connect two speakers to one terminal, the total impedence of the speakers falls by 1/2 (two 4 ohm speakers wire together will result in 2 ohm impedence). So, if you have an amp rated at 4 ohms, you could connect two 8 ohm speakers to a single output. Hope this helps some!

Ohm calculations; 4 and 8 ohm sub woofer?

+ output from amp to + input of 4 ohm to + input of 8 ohm AND - output from amp to - input of 4 ohm to - input of 8 ohm is a parallel circuit = 2.66 ohm impedance load for amp
+ output from amp to + on 4 ohm - on 4 ohm to + on 8 ohm - on 8 ohm to - of power amp is a series circuit = 12 ohm impedance load for amp. Clear as mud??
