The camera might not recognize the card. in the options menu select format card. WARNING this will erase all images on the card and ensure it is ready to receive images from your camera

Ax550 won't take picture, shooting mode icon outlined in red.

you can try to format the memory card and then reinsert it to your camera again to try.

Check whether your camera is focusing or not. unless it focuses and its locked , the shutter wont get released.

it can be due to improper light or distance of the object, or even problem with your camera internally.

check if there is any noise while focusing,a jam can also cause such a result for some cameras.

Canon lens won't focus

If it focuses OK in manual but not in auto then you may have broken ribbon cable in the lens.

If you want to install Fujifilm software then you will need administrator privileges for your computer.

You might want to consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

I can't get the lens to focus at all on any close up setting manual or auto. I have been trying to take pictures of flowers and insects with it set to close up and I have tried also with it on manual...

The 70-300mm lens won't focus closer than about 5 feet (1.5 meters). If you need to get closer, there are several alternatives. Here are some in descending order of cost (and picture quality).

A special "macro" or "micro" lens. Some lenses are designed to focus closer than others.

Extension tubes. These are tubes that fit between the lens and the camera body. By putting more distance between the camera and the lens, the focus point moves closer to the camera.

Close-up lenses. These are like filters in that they screw onto the front of the lens, but act like a magnifying glass.

The impact damage to the lens will require complete disassembly to repair. These are quite complicated but can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.

My name is Rick and I'm a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I'm semi retired and work from home with little overhead so I can keep repair costs low. If you decide to have the camera repaired, please click HERE for a directory listing that suits your needs.
