It turns out its most likely one of the resistors on the PCB on the amplifier plate.

My uncle has had the same problem and managed to replace the resistor and its working as normal now.

SOURCE: woofer,s outer ring is ripped.

To fix this problem, you will need to contact Velodyne.
They may be able to replace the surround or recone this driver.

Because this system has the "servo" control, you need to have the accelerometer conected to the amplifier. With out it, the amplifier will not operate.

SOURCE: Our ten year old paradigm ps 1200 subwoofer does

Disconnect the power, pull the amplifier out by undoing the screws that hold it in.
When you pull it out, look closely towards the top there is a little 1.8A fuse. It probably has blown.
Replace that and you should be back in business.

I have a pair of Paradigm Monitor 3 V.2 High Def speakers for my front L&R home theater system. On speaker sounds very tinny with no bottom end. On inspection neither the main or tweeter loo

A few questions to help me help you: (1) Does the woofer cone move freely when you use your hands to move it (or do you feel friction)? (2) have you tried swapping the left speaker for the right to rule out the receiver as a cause?

Ps-1200-A sub woofer will not power up

Probably a blown fuse. If there's not one on the face of the amp, pull the amp and check for one next to the power cable.

Our ten year old paradigm ps 1200 subwoofer does not power up, although it is plugged in and properly connected to the receiver. Why is this? Is it a lost cause?

How long should a powered sub woofer last? It's on 24/7, but is not abused with long, loud playing. Mostly regular TV.I have a Paradigm PS1000, about 10-12 years old.

There's no way of telling really! Even if something did go wrong there's no reason to say it couldn't be fixed very cheaply. It could last another 10 years or it could go wrong in the next few hours.
I will say one thing after 12 years of service and never off you certainly have had your monies worth!

I have a ipod i would like to connect to my PS Series but i do not know how

Don't bother. A subwoofer will only reproduce the rumble (deep bass) end of the spectrum. You would still need other (full range) speakers for the rest of the frequencies.

But, if you must - get an adapter to convert the Ipod's headphone output to an RCA pair and jack it into the sub's inputs.

Power source

I have PS-1000 and same problem. It looks like power transformer got partially shot (reads 11 V AC instead of 56)
I just don't know if it's all the problem or there is something else. And where I can find replacement transformer?
