How to download FixYa software on WinME OS

I would dearly love to help folks on this formatt, however I have an older PC with very limited memory and WinME OS. I am using Mozilla firefox. I won't be buying any more PC's because I cannot afford it. When this PC dies it will be the end of my online ability to communicate.

Maybe I can cheer you up a bit....

Give me about 30 minutes and If I can install the chat software on Windows 98 with at least 100mb of RAM I will give you a direct download link from my webhost for the download.

    The mobilan,

You don't need the software to answer regular questions. The download is only for chat sessions. So you can still help just not with the live chats. Hope this helps.

Ok from what I can tell as long as you have at least 100mb of RAM(Estimate based on my pc) You should be able to install and use the software. Please note that you must also meet the Criteria to be able to help people with that software.

STOP 0X0000008E(0XC0000006,0XF740DFEA,0XF6F0AA14,0X00000000)

The stop is actually a OS error code abbreviated "Stop 0x8E "
"KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED"
In reality it is a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death).
The most likely cause is caused by memory hardware failures and more rarely by device driver issues, viruses, or hardware failures other than your RAM.
Type the same as the quotation "Stop 0x8E" into Google - it will take you to the error code and give you the meaning.
It's not a computer processor error, at all, but a memory or driver error. Most likely a device which is trying to be used by the OS you are loading but can't load because the device needs a driver or the memory is loose (besides bad memory). Remove the memory and re-seat. Make sure not to touch the contacts with your hands. Take a pencil eraser and clean the contacts.
For a better answer, the next time give the OS version you attempting to load, and the hard drive you are using whether ATA or SATA. The more data the better. Now to test your memory --- download MEMTEST (find it on Google) it's FREE. And run Memtest on a Floppy disk or from a CD. Run the complete ALL tests, It will take many hours, but you can write down the errors (if any) and exchange your memory for new memory under the lifetime warranty that memory maker give. Good luck.

My v5 571 runs extremely slow ;I won't start; still diagnosing your pc on screen for over one hour; have no idea what's going on.

It seems that your OS has registry problem, so I would suggest you to fix it properly with the help of these tips given below:-

- Find how to start PC in safe mode, normally Pressing F8 key when windows starts up.( Google it)
- In Safe Mode create a new user, with administrator privileges and protect it with password.
- Remove unwanted softwares & programs.
- Empty the Recycle Bin.
- Download reliable program Reginout(Google it) and scan OS registry errors and fix it.
- Restart your PC normally and log on to the new account created.

Stay Happy :-)

Ram Memory

What OS are you using? If you have a 32-bit OS, this is the normal behavior. The extra 0.75 GB isn't directly addressed by the OS; it will be used for part of the memory cache. If you had a 64-bit OS, you would either see the full 4GB of memory or have a POST memory error on boot.
For most Windows OS versions, you can check your version by going to the System Control Panel. On XP through Windows 7, click Start > Control Panel. Then go to System and Security > System. If you do not see x64 at the end of the OS title, you have the 32-bit OS. For Windows 8 from the desktop, use the Charms menu (Win+C) or Windows Tools menu (Win+X). Then from Charms, select Settings and then Control Panel. From the Tools, go to Control Panel. Select System and Security > System. Read the line "System Type" in the System section.
I hope this helps.

(My old system could not support a 64-bit OS due to the CPU; I still put in the full 4GB even though it wasn't fully accessible.)

Aliens Colonial Marines crashes the PC on start up

Blue screen can mean many different things. Corrupt software, OS, even bad hardware. Start by uninstalling anything that was installed prior to the problem started.

You next options are to do a clean OS install and start over. From there you could start testing for bad memory.

These are tuff, tedious, and time consuming to get fixed. Most people end up wiping the system and starting over. gl

My pc is to slow how can i speed it up?

First, try some diagnostic work.
  • Go to the Apple menu and open "About this Mac." Verify that it shows the correct amount of installed memory. (My Powerbook was unusually slow one day because a memory module needed to be reseated; it didn't have enough RAM available, so it was running quite a bit out of virtual memory.)
  • Next, open Applications/Utilities/Activity Monitor. Click on the Memory tab ato see how much free memory you have. If there is little or none, look through the list of processes running to see what is using memory. Background system processes generally do not use more than 15 Mb; applications can use considerably more.
  • In Activity Monitor, click on the CPU tab. If it is running at 100% most of the time, and you have no applications open besides Activity Monitor, your system may be infected by a Trojan Horse spammer. You can confirm this by checking Network activity; if it is busy without Mail or a web browser running, and Software Update is not active, this is likely "enemy action."
  • If you have a combination of low CPU activity, very little free memory, and a very busy hard drive (check Drive Activity), you have too much stuff open for the amount of installed RAM. Quit your web browser, (you can reopen it again when you need it) and try to avoid having so many tabs or windows open. If you have a large amount of mail in your inbox, it's time to catch up on archiving or deleting older messages - a large inbox needs a lot of memory to run.
  • If you are running a massive Photoshop process in the background while watching an internet video, the CPU will be running at maximum speed, and sometimes it will get a bit behind on the video. There isn't much that can be done about it except to wait; photo rendering is inherently computation intensive.
  • Make sure the cooling system is running properly. Some systems will slow down if the processor gets too warm to avoid overheating. Others simply wait until the temperature hits a limit, then shut everything down (oops - there goes all the unsaved file work ...). I don't know how the intel PowerMac handles overheat conditions, but it may be the former case rather than the latter.

Sir i have intel pentium 3 processor support antivirus

Hi

Anti-Virus Programs will work with this processor, running Windows XP.

For newer Operating systems, there might be a problem with speed, due to the limitations of the processing power of the processor.

The motherboard for this Computer is likely to take old SD-RAM or even older EDO RAM, which are difficult to find at a reasonable price nowadays, because they are rare.

You should aim for a motherboard with 4 RAM slots to accept as much RAM Memory as possible.

Suggested good quality, low resource usage antivirus programs:

AVAST! (www.avast.com)

AVIRA (avira.com)

BULLGUARD (www.bulguard.com)

I hope this helps.

I've just upgraded my OS from 32bit Vista to 64bit Windows 7, I'm now trying to reinstall my printer HP C7100 but I now have an error saying the system does not meet one or more of the minimum...

Hi,

You need to install the 64 bit driver for Windows 7.

Let's start here: HP C7100 Series Support

You may want to bookmark this page for future reference.

Click on Software & Driver Downloads. Then select your OS from the drop-down menu: Windows 7 (64 Bit). You can download the software or order a CD...or both if desired. If you do not have broadband, forget downloading because the file is almost 300MB.

Here are my suggestions for downloading and installing:

When you get the download window, select Save. This will open a window to direct where to save it. On the left side, click on Desktop and then click the Save button. This will download the file to your Desktop.

When the download is complete, close all programs. Make sure you remove all previous software that you attempted to install. Verify the printer is NOT listed in your Printers folder.

Disconnect one end of the printer's USB cable. Leave it powered on though. Reboot the computer and again verify software and the printer are gone.

Double-click the file on the Desktop that you downloaded. This will begin the install process. Connect the USB cable when prompted.

That should get you going.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Hi. The amount of memory that can be installed is limited by the motherboard, not the CPU. That being said, the motherboard you have listed will take the following memory:

Each memory slot can hold DDR PC2700,DDR PC3200 with a maximum of 1GB per slot.

Memory upgrade on presario 4403us desktop

Hi yes thats correct you can have only 512mb RAM. This is due to your motherboard limitations or bios limitations. The only way is to change the motherboard this will allow you to also have latest usb 2 support. Just buy a motherboardboard thats compatible with your processor and existing memory.
