Why do I get an error message saying...no mouse device has been detected or No mouse works driver was found when trying to access the Kensington Software?

Usually someone gets either one of these error messages because the system did not update the drivers properly.
NOTE: If you are on windows NT or 2000 you need to have Administrative rights in order for our software to install properly.
Make sure you have the 6.0.2 version of the Mouseworks software. If you have an earlier version of mouseworks, you need to follow these steps...
1) Uninstall the software from the add/remove programs list in your control panel.
(restart when it asks you to)
2) When your system shuts down and before it starts to boot back up, start tapping on the 'F8' key. (you should get
a windows start up menu.) When you get the options choose 'safe mode'.
3) In safemode, double click on 'my computer' and then on the 'C' drive. Look for a folder called 'kmouse' and delete
it.
