If it is a new fridge or just hooked up the watter for the first time you need to cycle the ice a couple of times. What the coler is is charcal from the filter. Discard the firs two baches of ice then it will be fine.

Sound like the coating on the ice machine is coming apart. Replace the ice unit.

Freezer not making ice

Is it an icemaker? Either the water valve is bad or the freezer isn't cold enough or the ice maker is bad. Is it just a ice cube tray? Then it's not cold enough.

My American style fridge /freezer - Siemens KA62DS506B stopped producing Ice and water . The panel stopped being lit and there is a msg saying IWD Off

Your ice delivery water soleniod has failed, you can locate the solenoids in the rear lower of the fridge freezer unit where the pipes for water delivery goes in to the unit, locate the Ice delivery solenoid and replace it, easy test is to place a test cord on each solenoid and chech for operation under pressure. Neff K3990 American style fridge ice maker is not producing ice

The ice maker unit give the command to the water valve to relese water for a short time.
you cna check with volt meter on the water volve that got the pip go to the ice maker unit if it getting 120V for short time when the fingers of the ice maker making full round.
if you get 120v the problem is the valve (the ice maker and the water have difrent water path so its difrent valve used) if you dont get 120v or the fingers of the ice maker not turning then its your ice maker unit need to be replace.

I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Hi freezer on american style fridge freezer is

there is a defrost mode that melts any frost or ice on the evaporator coils and drains it into a pan under the fridge. if that drain is blocked, the water will pool inside. also check the door seals. if warm moist air leaks in, it'll condense on the cold interior and pool as well.

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp ..

Freezer defrost LG american style

Defrost the unit for two days with the doors open...I know you're going to lose your contents. You may have ice on the coils internally. Next make sure you've cleaned the external coils under the unit. Leaving liquids open inside the unit or setting it colder than required will both cause issues like the ones you've got. Also, be sure all air vents inside the unit are unblocked and the door closes tightly all around.
