Try this way, take the cartridge out, shake it side to side 5-6 times, put it back and try to print
Sometime it works, sometime not

Good luck to you

Memory info retrieving from lexmark x5630 fax machine

Usually, faxes are temporarily sent to the printer's memory when one of the cartridges' ink level is not substantial for printing at the instance of receiving the fax. When this happens, try to replace the cartridge(s), *without navigating away from the message "fax sent to memory", by opening the printer cover and replacing the low-ink or empty cartridge(s). After the new cartridge is installed, close the printer cover and press the OK button. Your printer should then print the fax stored in the memory.
*Make sure not to navigate away from the "fax sent to memory" message, otherwise, data will be lost.

The large blank ink cartridge ran out and the printer won't let me do anything. I want to send a fax which does not require any ink but the printer is locked up until I replace the cartridge. Nice...

I think you can send the fax by using the computer software to send the fax but I couldn't be 100% sure if that applies to this model.

Unfortunately the reason for this behaviour is that you may have a setting that prints a fax report after the send which obviously needs the printer to have ink. If the printer let that continue it would then potentially burn out the printhead very quickly which is a definite "ouch".

It's a pain but there is a logic to it, of sorts.

In Use/Memory FAX after changing ink cartridge

I had the same problem - it would not print the faxes as the machine would not recognize the generic cartridge - I had to get the official Canon cartridge to get the faxes to print out of memory.

Received in Memory issue

=) SOLUTION!!! To print from memory, simply press the "FAX button on the front panel.
Then, press the "MENU" button. "1. Fax Settings" will appear in the display. Press the
"right" arrow key once so that you get "Memory Reference" to appear on the screen.
Press the "OK" button once. It will display "Print List", but you want to "Print Document",
so press the "right" arrow key until you get to "Print Document" and press "OK."
Once you are there, press "OK" again and the message "Print 1st page only?" It displays a YES and NO, so hit the left or right arrow key to choose. If you want to print the entire document,
choose NO and press "OK" Your document will print out!!! =)
