There are two screews onder the shield. You need to get level with the shield to see them. Remove the two screews and it should come off no problem. Now to get in to the controll panel you have to pull the oven out and there are two screews on the back in both top corners to get in side to the control board. Good luck

Maytag Oven model MER5755QAQ has lock on the display and the oven will not operate.

If one of the position switches on the latch assembly is not reading, the control will sometimes lock because it "thinks" a clean cycle has been initiated, if replacing the control did not fix the lock icon, test the switch... Incorrect temp probe and thermostat failures can also make a control "think" it is in a clean cycle. My maytag gemini duel oven has a F1-2 error and neither oven heats. please help.

To fix the error F1-2, check the wire harness between your oven sensor mounted to the back wall inside your lower oven and your control board to make sure the wires are secure and the connections are good. Pull the oven out and remove the back panel on the oven to check the wires connections. If the connections and wires check good, disconnect the wire connection to the oven sensor and check the resistance of the sensor. The resistance should be 1100 ohm at standard room temperature. If the sensor is not good you need to replace it, and if the sensor checks within range replace the display control board.

Ovens not heating up and burners won't turn on.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

This indicates a open/shorted oven temperature sensor and to solve this problem the sensor needs replacement. If you wan to be sure before replacing the sensor then you can test it with a voltmeter for around 1100ohms....if it reads more then this then it needs replacement however, if the reading is around or less then 1100ohms then it is the control board that needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Oven will not heat up completely

Hi!

Try the following---

1.) When the food you're baking is done on top but not on the bottom--or when baking just takes far too long to finish--the bake element may be burned out.

You may get fooled into thinking it's working, because the oven is hot inside. But many electric ovens use the broil element, too, during the preheat and bake cycles. So the food may be getting heated only by the broil element, which causes poor baking results.

If the bake element is burned out, replacing it should solve the problem. Otherwise, you need to further troubleshoot the oven's electrical system to locate the defective wire or component.

2.) When the temperature is consistent but too high or too low, it could be one of several different things. First check to see if the thermostat sensing bulb has come loose from its holder. It could be lying on the floor of the oven or resting on the heating element. This would cause the oven to not heat correctly.

If the thermostat bulb is not dislodged, it's likely that the thermostat or sensor is either mis-calibrated or defective.

Electronic ovens with a digital display use a sensor to monitor oven temperature. To solve temperature problems for these models, you may need to replace the sensor. On some digital-display models, you can calibrate the temperature using the key pad. See your operator's manual for details.

Ovens without a digital display often use a mechanical system for controlling temperature. On many of these units, you can remove the thermostat knob and adjust the knob itself to more accurately represent the actual setting of the thermostat.

If, when you remove the knob, there's a screw on the back of it with a small calibration plate, you can loosen the screw, adjust the plate, then tighten the screw again. If the knob isn't adjustable, and the oven temperature is off by more than 30 to 40 degrees, you need to replace the thermostat to solve the problem.

Thanks
Rylee

Too hot

more than likely if it isnt shutting off when it reaches temp. then it probably needs a temp sensor or a EOC (electronic oven control). I have replaced many of these boards in the past , usually there is a relay on the board that is stuck. The relay really isn't replaceable and the whole board needs to be replaced. Does the dispay show the temp that the oven acually is or the temp it is set for?

Oven heat

There is a bottom hidden element that is the main element used for baking and cleaning. If its not heating then the element has gone bad and needs replacing. If you have a volt meter then you can confirm this by checking the voltage between the two terminals sticking out of the rear of the range. There should be 240vac across the two. If you have that then you need a new element if you don't then you need a new control board.
