Scope worked it was on a 22 lr shot it twice and the scope went black and will not light up at all now
Sir, there could be number of things that when south on your scope. Don't ask ATN for help. They will tell you box it up and sent to them. They will give a ruff estimate on what it going to cost to fix it. Another thing that they will tell you after they have received your scrope. "The scope is not worth the money to fix it.... You'll have more money invested in older model. This is what ATN will do: We (ATN) take in for a trade on a newer scope. We will give you excellent price for your none functioning scope" Watch it
I have repaired some of these factory repair jobs. Some times I wonder if they really repair them. Normally, it could be broken wire, bad switch, I am thinking this a Generation 2 image tube in it. I am also sure it has smart electronic in it (small microprossor). Self controlling gains, auto focus, auto shut off, low battery indicator.
You can unscrew the lens and look at the image intensifier tube and see what color it is. Does it have a thick black ring around the image tube? If it does, then this is the voltage multiplier for the tube. Operation voltage will be from 12KV to 18KV and some of the other tubes that cascaded in 3 stages will have operating voltage of 45KV in the form of switching DC volts off/on/off/on.-- It similiar to AC voltage, but not quit.
If you really take this scope apart. Draw diagram of the printed ciruit boards (ruff drawing, don't put the components on it just where the wires are solder to the boards), label the wires and indicate where on the printed circuit board where each wire goes. This also implies what on the other end of the wires. Thay way if wires brakes your'll know where it goes. Especially be carfully. If you get shocked, it not as bad as a spartk plug wire. About 1/10 the value.. I could continue, but look for bad correction, cold solder joints (they will kinda gray with no shin), check the switches. Best of luck, Keep you rubber in a cool dry place and get occilators in the exhaust tuned. Weld a steel plate on the valve covers that way a push rod want kill a spectator in the stands. stewbison-
