Unfortantly, looking at your specs and the space on the motherboard, no zalman cooler is going to fit. The only thing I can suggest is replacing the side panel opposite the graphics cards with one which wil allow you to put a fan to blow air onto them, a 120 or 140mm tend to be the best.

Will gtx 550 ti work with ig-80

Dear,
did you disabled the on board vga card then it will work and plug the vga cable on the card. It might be possible you, by mistake, put the connector in the onboard VGA connector.

best of luck!

Abit GD8 Pro video card best support?

the best video card depends on what you want to do with it. if you only plan to watch movies, it's no use of spending lots of money on a high-end graphics adapter. if you're more of a hardcore gamer, then the only thing i could say is this: look for a graphics card with as much video memory and as high a clock speed as possible. and try to avoid the brand MSI in combo with Abit system boards, since this may cause hardware conflicts and compatibility issues...

PCI-E card does not work, onboard video works fine, this is the second card.

The Abit IP-95 manual doesn't show you how to adjust your bios settings when adding a PCI-E x16 graphics card. When adding a PCI-E card you'll need to adjust a few settings within, Advanced Setup.
Press the delete key on your keyboard every two seconds to load your bios menu. Within Advanced Setup look for, Onboard Device Configuration and open it. Find, Primary Graphics Adapter.
Set this to read as [PCI-E, VGA] save your changes and exit.

Currently your onboard graphics is enabled. You'll need to change this setting to PCI-E first. When you use the onboard UniChrome Pro 2D/ 3D Graphics & Video Controller you are also using some of your system memory to run the UniChrome graphics. Once you enable the bios to boot to the PCI-E card you can also stop using your system memory assigned to the UniChrome card. Link to Abit is provided below, click on it to open;

No boot

if you had received a cd with the card that contains drivers i would replace the old vga card and, assuming it boot s okay, load the CD. after this shut down, swap cards, then reboot.

Ati radeon agp card

Hi Rafael83,

There may be afew things that may be wrong. One, the video card may be bad, two the motherboard may be bad, or three your power supply may not have enough wattage to power your video card. Or it coud be all of the above.

Sincerely,

Agent Xiong

Connect a vga card on a used a17 mobo

Hi Rafae183, yes, you're board, Abit Al7/Al7-G supports AGP8x/4x speeds & voltage of 0.8v/1.5volts only.
Below is the Abit link for you're board. Listed on the right of the page is product Inf. & support Inf. Suggest you add this to you're favorites.
http://www.abit.com.tw/page/en/motherboard/motherboard_detail.php?pMODEL_NAME=AI7&fMTYPE=Socket%20478&pPRODINFO=Specifications

Suggested any one of these AGP8x speed video cards.

Remember to check for voltage. You're video card must run at 1.5volts only. Warranty's are important too.

Have more questions, feel free to ask.
Best of luck to you!
