Question about VCRs
I have been in contact with the company I bought my digital converter box from (Philco). They assured me that I have everything hooked up correctly in order to view the TV and also record programs using my Zenith VCR. When I turn the TV and converter box on, I get a nice picture but once I turn on the VCR, there is complete fuzz.
Here's how I'm set up: my antenna cable is connected to Converter box ANT IN. Coaxial cables connect from converter box ANT OUT to VCR ANT IN, and VCR ANT OUT connected to TV ANT IN. Both VCR and Converter box are set to video channel 3.
For a very brief time, I had this working and was able to view programs with the VCR on and even tested to see if I could record. (It did!) I'm assuming I was hooked up right to be able to do that. I haven't made any changes in hook up since then however I can't get a picture at all on my TV once I turn on the VCR. I was told by the Philco people that the VCR is interrupting the signal from the converter box to the TV.
I was also told to contact Zenith and ask how to auto preset my VCR so it will memorize channels into the VCR.
Can you help me figure this out?
I have a Zenith VRL2110 VCR model.
When the VCR is "off" the converter signal should go right through the box, which you say it does. Then, when you turn the VCR "on" the picture disappears. That, so far, how it should be. To get your picture back while the VCR is "on" you must set the VCR to "receive" channel 3, and use your new converter box to change channels...accordianman
