It is now getting more frequent after a few hours so I have been using the laptop without the battery in but it has crashed twice tonight and the second time was when I was half-way through this message. I have to use the Windows recovery.

Hi it seems that the laptop is getting hot and is shutting down to cool .Listen out for the fans, and any unusual noise from the fan area to see if it is working.

My laptop crashed (BSDO) during long skype video calls

Shut down, unplug, remove battery, plug in, reboot. I would not be overly concerned if it happens only once.

1026laptop was working then all of a sudden the screen cut out and tried rebooting and nothing works but the power icon is on and the battery shows charge did the laptop crash

A crash is possible. I however think you have a power or overheating problem. If after the laptop cools it reboots, then it is a heating problem. If it doesn't, let it charge over night. If it boots then, you have a power problem. If which case the adapter or the power connector is at fault.

laptopwill.jpgThis type of clog can shut your laptop down and/or damage the motherboard.

If this information was helpful please rate it high. Thanks.

My computer just shut off and now won't reboot

You may be able to boot in safe mode and discover the problem that way. You may want to check the battery, and the power cable, but I assume you already did that, so if the safe mode reboot wont work, it is possible that the hard disk crashed, or you have another hardware problem. Try booting from a windows install CD, or a Linux CD, to see if it can boot at all. Then you may be able to see the hard disk and determine if it is crashed or corrupted. Also, sometimes removing the battery and pulling the power cord out for a few moments can allow it to restart.

Laptop crash after inserting blank disk

do not worry at all. take out the cd and reboot in safe mode by pressing F8 at bootup. Then you can restore your laptop to an earlier date from Start->All progs->Accessories->System->restore. reboot normal this time.

Crashed files

First of, your files did not crash. Your PC did. Your files may only get corrupted at best.

First, download a registry cleaner. A good one is Avast registry cleaner. Also download a virus removal tool or an antivirus. Avast also can be a good one. I recommend getting Avira Free version.

Boot your PC into Safe Mode (press F8 while PC is booting). Then install Avira in Safe Mode. Scan your PC. Run Avast registry cleaner. Reboot.
