Question about Olympus EVOLT E-410 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Camera won't switch on

Hi,
Afraid I've dropped my beloved 410 and it won't switch on. Have been quoted e150 to even open it up by a shop. That's before they attempt to even fix it.
Any ideas how I might get it working again. There is nothing loose on it and nothing loose inside when I shake it gently.
Thanks
Dan

If it will not power on, then let a technician repair it for you... nothing to do except hard reset... but the camera needs to power on for that to happen.. card door open, press and hold both the ok and menu button

My camera was dropped and now the aperture is messed up, giving me really dark and grainy pictures in bright surroundings, even set as low as 25.

i suggest you take the camera to a digital Canon repair shop and ask them for a repair quote. They may charge for a quote unless you go ahead with the repair, then you can decide whether to get a new body or get it repaired.

CameraWindow won't open or will suddenly close before loading

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

I dropped my canon powershot SD 4500 IS and now it won't turn on! It's survived countless other falls just fine, and would turn on immediately then. All times, including this time, have been when...

Really!....you've dropped your camera "countless" other times and now you're concerned because this time, it won't turn on!!! You're not sure what else to do?!!! How about not dropping your camera. How about using the wrist strap. Your dropping luck has run out...your camera does not have nine lives.

I need help. I've used my memory card many times with no problems. Now I put it in my laptop and absolutely nothing happens. It shows under "Devices and Removable Storage" but nothing happens....

Instead of bringing up the properties, simply double-click the disk icon to open it.

Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).
