Re: cant transfer music

Greetings from Ireland. I never had problems before, but i sent my MP3 player to sony for repair and when I received it it had the same issue.

The reason for this is that on the player there is some 5Mb of data that is generated by the firmware of the player. The firmware is like a bios of the device. If the firmware is not compatible with the software you're trying to transfer the music with, you will get this message.

Firstly, check if you have the latest version og Sonic Stage of Open Manager (depending where relevant). This should fix the issue. If it doesn't, you may need a firmware upgrade. The upgrade is easy to download and instal and is available directly from Sony.

Warning: Only install firmware and software updates provided by Sonly directly. Specially with firmware, wrong package can damage your player so be sure that the file you're downloading and installing is the right one.

Visit Sony Support page to download files.

How do I add music to my sony bean? whenever i add music to it, it shows up on the computer but not on the player. it just says "no data". I heard that you have to like convert music using...

Yes, you need Sonic Stage software installed in PC to transfer mp3 files in this Sony MP3 Player.
Click Sony Support, select OS running in PC in drop down list to download Sonic Stage software, install it in PC then connect mp3 player with PC and transfer files through Sonic Stage.

ive got the new version of the sony sonic stage downloaded onto my laptop, and when i plug my player into my laptop via usb cable, the player itself is recognized straight away as a harddrive/removable disk etc,and you have to transfrer music onto the player as from sonic stage music library, and you also have to creatate you own music library via sonic stage, and u can also transfer music from your own music library wich you use via windows media player, and also u can transfer a cd into you sony sonic stage music libraty, and this is similar to when your using the windows media player as to rip a cd or transfer music onto an mp3 player,as i use all diffrent types of mp3 players myself, and i find the archos gmini sx 202 player to be pretty awesome player,as ive got to of them as well, and i use windows media player as to transfer music files onto them, and i cannot transfer any music files onto the sony ones via windown media player as those music file wont show up on the player at all,and ive tried this myself, and it will only work via sony sonic stage.

I cant play the songs on my mp3 player

You can't directly transfer it by copy/paste and all that. You have to use their Sonic Stage program. Did you?

Software on 2 computers

You can set up the SonicStage software on multiple PC's / Laptops. You can also transfer songs from your MP3 player to your PC and Laptop or vice versa.

Try rebooting your laptop while the USB MP3 Player connected to the USB port. After reboot, try clicking on the installed SonicStage icon. If this goes through then your MP3 player will be detected and you can now transfer music to it.

Just opened mine an hour ago. Version 3.0 Sonic Stage in the box. They really want you to use their Atrac compression. In Sonic Stage, Import your files (or let it create your libray), then it will convert as needed.

I am now listening to music. Meanwhile I have downloaded Sonic Stage 4.3 from Sony website, as well as the 4.3 security patch.

However, they have an MP3 driver that will allow you to load MP3 onto this device, without Sonic Stage (you'll need to install). Doesn't say if it will allow WMA too.

I'll be trying more tomorrow.

it displayed "formating...... COMPLETE"
3.- THEN plugged into the PC and transfered songs with Sonic
