It worked fine till one day it was on all day then it just started getting bad for a few days, then magicley fixed itself for about a week then did it again. its so annoying because i cant even watch HD movies cuz they look like crap. Does anyone know what causes this?? THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Re: Blue shadows

Looks like you need to adjust some panel voltages, usually the VS or VSCAN voltages, the panel on the inside of the set has a label with all these voltages on it and there are test points and small adjustors for changing these voltages, lower the VS voltage about 10 volts and while adjusting them have it hooked up and turned on, so you can watch the changes take place, if your not sure how to do it get an electronics specialist to do it, these tv's are loaded with high voltagers and can cause severe shock, be careful

47 inch Toshiba LCD REGZA TV - screen has what looks like water stain or "woodgrain-like" shadows/artifacts. They go sort of vertical but are not straight, (look like wood grain shadows). Not real obvious...

The only way might solved this problem,to replaced the Tuner Signal board. If the board is replaced have same problem, then ur tv have some kind of dead pixels burns in.Tries, for the board part.

Blue shadow

No. I would suspect it being a Optical Block issue. I is not a pretty repair not to mention the cost factor. If you could get in touch with Hitachi Customer Service they could lead you to s service facility that could comfirm what I think.

Well the shadow is caused by the pixels going dead. There is a term for this "dead pixels" if its still under warrenty take it in. If its not you may be able to get a new screen for it on I use ebay a lot and boy I found thing I though I would never find people are very informative and you will probably need to take the screen you bought to a repair shop and have them place it in for you. this is not a quick fix so I hope this helps.

Screen remains blue with "no signal" written on it, inspite of a cable connection and, of course, the input set to cable

Probably a bad video processor board

But, 1st try using a different type of Cable such as IRC, STD, or HRC different freqs and channels

Also, try using a vcr or dvd on one of the inputs to see if that works

Check settings first to make sure no one changed anything out of the ordinary. Are the shadows that of a color or darkened shadow? It could be out of convergence, which can be corrected in the menu - or it could be low quality video cables to. Also, if there is no green, does a white color show up when you're in a menu mode (Red+Blue+Green = White Image)? If so, then the green picture tube is working and it's just a color adjustment, otherwise you may have to invest in a new green picture tube.
