SOURCE: very slow 2nd hand peg perego gaucho

I have the same issue. Called their customer service and they said it was a defect in the charging system. They are sending a upgrade kit for free, but when it's installed you can't charge the battery using the rear port anymore. No big deal. I'll report back when the fix is complete. 5-7 days until it gets here.

I would use the specific peg perego charger. I had a neighbor who used a different one and he ruined his battery.
You can purchase them at this website I found http://www.shopjandl.com/kids---baby-ride-on-toys-peg-perego.html

SOURCE: my sons peg perego john deere jeep only sets off

I would get the Peg Perego Gator Shifter Assembly from http://www.shopjandl.com/
Make sure the wires are secure on both motors in the back.
One time I had the same problem and I had loose wires on the motor, but I ended up replacing the switch assembly later because it would only work in 1st gear.
Hope this helps

SOURCE: new battery

A lower capacity battery (12v 8Ah) can/should preferrably be replaced by a better capacity (12v 12Ah), and usually more expensive, quality battery of the same voltage with higher amperage rating: it will in general take longer to charge but will also last longer in usage.
Please make sure that you fully charge and discharge your new battery pack a few times to 'condition' it.

Hope it helps and have fun!

I'm looking for a wire harness for the Peg Perego Gator to connect to the battery and a battery tray.

Where are you? If in the UK visit www,wackywheelers.com but if in the states try Kidswheels or tiger imports

Our son's peg perego john deere gator stopped working and we thought it was the battery so we bought a new battery. We charged the new battery for 24 hours and hooked it up to the gator but it still gave...

It is most likely the Gearbox, it is easy to find and easy to replace. It is right under the gear shifter and is a "harness" with wires that will need replaced, if you call the tech support for Peg Perego they are very helpful and will get you on the right track. Your old battery is most likely fine, but keep it until you fix the gearbox switch. Afterward (when gator is again operational) I would imagine you could return the new battery since you really should not need it. Peg Perego support is 1800-728-2108 and you can also look for parts at www.mypegperegoparts.com

We just replaced the battery and it worked fine

Use a meter to confirm whether the battery is still working. The meter should read around 12-13 VDC if the battery is good. The 12 Volt Peg Perego battery is made with 2 6 volt batteries connected in series. Maybe the connection broke when the battery fell out. Check the connection and also check with a meter if either battery is pumping out 6 volts.

Between the perego battery charger and the 12v battery is a wire that mates them both, do you know where i can buy another?

in some cases you can contact perego and they will have the correct items you need. My sons didnt work and I took it to the closest perego shop and they fixed it for me for free. Hope you get the problem fixed.

We bought a new battery for our son's ride on and we don't know how to take the blue plastic off from around the battery

It is always best to use the specified Peg Perego battery when replacing them.
the batteries as seen here http://www.shopjandl.com/kids---baby-ride-on-toys-peg-perego-batteries.html come with the connections and case because they are genuine peg perego batteries.
If the cases are split then it becomes a safety hazard for the children.
