Question about Invicta Speedway 9223 Wrist Watch
Hi - I have just bought an Invicta Speedway 9223 and it doesn't keep time. I haven't used it yet (it is a Christmas present) and so it is still in it's box, and am thinking that it may not be battery powered - if so, it will only work if I am wearing it.
SO the question is, does it require a battery? And if not, I presume it will start to keep time?
Second question is should the large "Seconds" hand be moving as it doesn't except when I use the stopwatch
Would really really appreciate your advice here.
It sounds to me as it is a quartz chronograph and it is right that the centre seconds hand moves only if the pushbutton is pressed. If you look close enough, you will notice that the small subdial finger is ticking and counting seconds. It is recommended to replace battery, as sometimes watches been laying in stores for a few years before selling and the battery is flat or underpowered.

You have a quartz watch, which means it is powered by a battery. The previous response was correct in both of his statements, the battery is probably dying, and the large second hand is just for the chronograph. If you look closely at your watch, the small dial near the 9 o'clock position is the second counter. You'll see this spinning regardless of the chronograph being activated or not. This counts the seconds during normal operation. The same goes for the dial at the 6 o'clock position, this tells the current hour that you are in, and does not count hours on the chronograph. Your watch is working just like it is supposed to except you need a new battery. I recently got an Invicta watch very similar to yours and I initially thought the same thing, but after some research, it was working properly.
