Invicta Speedway 9223 not keeping time

Hi - I have just bought an Invicta Speedway 9223 and it doesn't keep time. I haven't used it yet (it is a Christmas present) and so it is still in it's box, and am thinking that it may not be battery powered - if so, it will only work if I am wearing it.

SO the question is, does it require a battery? And if not, I presume it will start to keep time?

Second question is should the large "Seconds" hand be moving as it doesn't except when I use the stopwatch

Would really really appreciate your advice here.

It sounds to me as it is a quartz chronograph and it is right that the centre seconds hand moves only if the pushbutton is pressed. If you look close enough, you will notice that the small subdial finger is ticking and counting seconds. It is recommended to replace battery, as sometimes watches been laying in stores for a few years before selling and the battery is flat or underpowered.

You have a quartz watch, which means it is powered by a battery. The previous response was correct in both of his statements, the battery is probably dying, and the large second hand is just for the chronograph. If you look closely at your watch, the small dial near the 9 o'clock position is the second counter. You'll see this spinning regardless of the chronograph being activated or not. This counts the seconds during normal operation. The same goes for the dial at the 6 o'clock position, this tells the current hour that you are in, and does not count hours on the chronograph. Your watch is working just like it is supposed to except you need a new battery. I recently got an Invicta watch very similar to yours and I initially thought the same thing, but after some research, it was working properly.

Hi there, I have recenlty purchased the Invicta 9223, however, I cant get the second hand to swoop. Is there any chance you may know why please? I have read the manual inside and out... Thank...

If you have pressed the 2:00 push button, and the chronograph hand has not started, the movement is defective.

You should return the timepiece directly to the seller in exchange for another. If they are an authorized dealer, you may return it directly to Invicta with your warranty, and they will provide the repair / replacement directly.

Again, there is nothing that you are doing wrong, the movement itself is defective. We see this in a small percentage of watches, but often enough. Do not take no for an answer from the seller if you have just purchased this defective item, especially if they are not an authorized reseller / dealer of this brand.

My invicta stainless steel band has two bent pins and I was told to send back to invicta repair. Is the repair of watch band more expensive than a new watch band and who can put on new band.

Most watch pins go for an average of 5 to 10 dollars per pin. If the band is in good condition there is no need to replace it. Most invicta metal bands can retail from 35 dollars and up. We are located in the Holyoke Mall in Holyoke MA

I have an Invicta 5103 mechanical wind chrono and the large second hand will not zero out on the 12

To set the sweep arm pull the stem and crown out to the first or second set position then press and hold down the start button. The sweep arm will move into position and you can let go of the button when it is where you want it.
