There are lenses available to add with an adapter ring. I have the wide angle lens (which I LOVE) and a 2x telephoto lens. The wide angle lens allows me to macro from several feet away. It is an amazing lens. The telephoto lens is something you really need to use with a tripod. But yes, there are lenses you can add to your camera.

Hi Usually on your camera problem, tech just want to change the lens unit assemble. However, it is repairable, your local repair shop would charge around $65 to 145 depend on what they really want to charge. Thanks and best regard!

This is most likely due to a lens error.

A lens error can be caused by physical damage to the mechanism that controls the lens, or debris that is interfering with the operation of the lens.

This article may be able to help you with a "do it yourself" solution.
http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

In the event that your problem is due to physical damage and not just dirt or debris, you will need to take it to a local camera repair shop for troubleshooting-- though with most consumer digital cameras, labor and parts cost of a repair can easily exceed the value of the camera.

Im look for info and manual for Fujifilm S4000A 14MP 30X Zoom SLR-Style Camera with Software

FujiFilm has information for the S4000 here: http://www.fujifilm.com/products/digital_cameras/s/finepix_s4000/ . The software is available under Support. Unfortunately, the manual isn't available yet. It probably will eventually be added here: http://www.fujifilm.com/support/digital_cameras/manuals/ .

I wish that I had better news.

Try looking under S5600 on the fujifilm uk website. The manual is identical because it is the same camera. The S5200 is the S5600 in the usa

I'm taking exterior shots of a building using the auto mode. The roof comes out wavy. Have an appointment shortly to take more pics. Why is this happening? (I miss my old SLR ...)

Cameras are subject to some unusual conditions due to lenses being round and the image you take being square. They work better the closer you are to the center of the lens. Normally you don't see this, but when you take a picture of something long and straight and it's near the edge of your picture, it can come up wavy or crooked.

You can recompose to avoid long straight things near the edge, or you can take several pictures and stitch them together in Photoshop. This will let you get the roofline more near the center of several pictures, and then after you stitch you can crop to make the photo the way you want.

You're dead on about the SLR, though. SLR's have bigger and better lenses, and on digital SLR's, the sensors are much bigger. This gives them huge advantages in how they focus light, and overall it makes the near edge lens issues less noticable.

Lens adapter needed

Get yourself a step ring, 52mm for you S8000FD, this has a thread on the end and allows filter attachments. I have an S8000FD and have since bought a step up ring, UV filter and Polariser, plus another lens cap which fits on to the end via a pinch mechanism rather than clamping like the one provided by Fuji.

Lens adapter

Hi

I do not believe that it is possible to use a lens adapter with this camera or even filters.

The lens that comes with it has a wide focal range and the camera itseld is sold as a compact.

You may need to look at a fully digital SLR to get this feature
