Question about Televison & Video
The machine is working fine, but i cannot run the machine from the remote control and i changed the batteries, could it be the remote or possibly the infared in the machine. control parts number is pww1062 and the pioneer karoake machine model is PD-V10G. someone told me i could test the remote control by using a analog radio on AM and see it is puts out a signal, is that correct and if so what should i look for. How or where do i check for the infared, assuming that the remote is ok. Remotes costs from $39 to $49 plus shipping and tax.

It's quite likely the codes are the same. Check the manuals for the models on Pioneer's website (www.pioneerelectronics.com) for the year/date they were issued. For most models issued around the same time the codes were the same, but they also post IR codes, so you can verify there as well. If you can't find any information I will give you info on ordering the exact remote you need and options for universal remotes that have your model.

Try the command code switch. I recently had a similar problem when my remote suddenly stopped working. It worked fine one time but nothing the next time I tried it.
I checked the emitter with a digital camera and found it was not working. I did the remote reset (remove batteries and push all the buttons twice, reinsert batteries) and the emitter was now working. However, the remote would still not control the base unit. I did the remote base code reset (push power, volume and TV/DVD buttons together) but this did not help. I then checked the command code switch. This is a small three position slide switch located in the battery compartment on the remote. I slid the switch back and forth several times returning to the default number one setting where it was before. I did not change anything on the base unit but the remote now worked.
Hope this helps.
