Question about Atlantic Luggage Atlantic, Inc. Wire 4-Tier Gaming Tower - Silver (45506019)
I want to flat tow my 08 f-150 pickup STX package, yes it has a manual shift transfer case. i want to know if I create a harness to plug into the trailer light receptacle and the other end to the motorhome, will htis activate the tail and brake lights? are the actual lights on a different circuit? if so is there an aftermarket plug to expediate the chore? if they are on a different circuit, where is the easiest place to splice into the circuit? thanks
No you can not plug into your towing wiring harness. It will daage the lighting system. It is a little tricky to explain and usually less trouble to just get magnetic remote lights. If you really want to make the lights on your truck work as described, you will need to connect the wires to each light and install diodes in the lines to prevent the current from back feeding onto your trucks electrical system. There are a few sites on line to search for more info. They call what you are doing is Toad towing. Good luck and I hope this enlightens you a bit.
