Computer running slow

New Vista computer running slow. Could the problem be that we are using both Trend Micro Internet Security Pro and Windows Defender?

Well...when using trend micro you shouldn't need windows defender. You should also try cleaning your registry. I own a new computer with vista as well. If your registry is just a little bugged up your whole computer could be dragging. Try the programs below and see which one you like best...

You should continue cleaning your registry about 3 times a week.

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

May be a silly question but have you run a disk cleanup and disk defragment on it, go into sstart button, all programs, Accessories, then to system tools and first run disk cleanup it will give you a window that you can choose things toremove such as tempory internet files and empty recycle bin, on my computer the boxes are alerady checked for the items I don't need to save, but the temp internet files take up extra space and slow down computer, not needed , aftwr that I run the defragmenter and it makes a big difference on the speed of my computer, also do you have virus protection? microsoft security essentials has free that you can download, only thing I would warn you about is stay away from Defender Pro anti virus of any kind, it froze up my compute r

I'm unable to start Trend Micro 2009- it was working not Vista cannot find the path

Uninstall first your trend micro then reinstall it again. Most likely you may have gotten a corruption on the software itself.

Trend micro internet security 2008

Dear Sir/Madam,

This error will appear if you have installed the 16.05 version of
Trend Micro Internet Security Pro, Trend Micro Internet Security and
Trend Micro AntiVirus plus AntiSpyware 2008 on a computer running
Windows Vista with Service Pack 1 or Window XP with Service Pack 3.

The Trend Micro Personal Firewall and the Unauthorized Changes
Prevention features main components do not work with the new service
packs from Microsoft.

A working version of Trend Micro Internet Security Pro, Trend Micro
Internet Security and Trend Micro AntiVirus plus AntiSpyware 2008 with
Windows Vista SP1 and Windows XP SP3 would be released sometime in
February 2008.

The release would be timed before Microsoft uploads the new service
packs in their automatic update servers for Windows.

To prevent this message from appearing, follow the steps indicated
below:

a.Check the program version of the Trend Micro program installed on
your computer.

b.If you are using version 16.05 and you want to continue using this
latest version of the Trend Micro program, you must uninstall the non-
working service pack from Microsoft.

c. If you do not want to remove the new Microsoft service packs, Trend
Micro suggests that you uninstall the Trend Micro program installed in
your computer and install PC-cillin Internet Security 2007 until the
release of the working version.

Thanks
Good Luck

Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security 14 loading but never loaded

I had a similar problem and this worked for me
with Trend Micros Internet Security.

You will have to uninstall the program first then reinstall it, otherwise it
will hang and cause problems with your computer.

In order to uninstall it do these steps.
Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > System Configuation.
Makes sure you select Selective Startup, and that Load Startup Items is unchecked.
Click OK, and you should be prompted to reboot.

After you reboot and the system is loaded your Virus Software icon will NOT
be in the taskbar trying to load.

Now go into control panel > Programs and Features.
Find the virus program, hightlight and select the uninstall option.
After its done doing that go back into the Control Panel >
Administrative Tools > System Configuration. Select Normal Startup
and hit the OK button.

Reboot again when you see the button prompt.
Now, after the system comes up, reinstall your virus software,

You should be good to go from there.
The process is for Vista, but if your running Windows XP it is very similar.
