Re: philips dvdr600vr

I had the same problem, and it was driving me nutz. For some reason, I had to take the recorder out of Progressive Scan mode, even though I have and HDTV. Turn off the DVDR, then hold down the D Dubbing button on the front and turn it on. Continue holding down the D Dub button for at least 15 seconds. That should re-set it. refer to page 66 of the manual in the Helpful Hints box.

I have a oneforall remote urc 4081b00. I need the codes for a Philips DVDR600VR/37 DVD Recorder VCR Recorder.

Codes, if applicable, are in the remote. Use code search to find what you need but bear in mind that only some functions may be controllable. If a search through all codes contained in the remote fails, you may have to try a different universal remote, e.g., Philips.

Just hooked up my new Magnavox DV220MW9 DVD Player ? VCR Recorder. I was able to set the time and a vcr timer program but now I can't switch the source. It now comes on as the DVD but neither the remote...

You need to release the timer to access the VCR. Press the Timer Set button on the remote or the Stop/Eject button on the recorder. Then press the VCR button.

Please note: the scheduled recording will not run as programmed unless you press the Timer Set on the remote again. (The timer locks the VCR until the scheduled ON time.) The DVD player is controlled separately and becomes the default unit.

I hope this helps.

Im thinking that maybe you a have a timer recording set. The whole unit wont function at all if you turn it on via power button (remote or unit). There should be a button at the top of the remote called 'timer set' pressing this will disable that mode and allow complete use of everything. but make sure u press timer set again when powering down, otherwise simply turning off the machine will leave the timer recording disabled.
