Not getting any scrren at all.

When the projector is powered the power light stays on and red and the temp light just flashes. before this problem it would show a screen and say that there was a problem with the lamp and it needed to be replaced. the lamp was replaced and this new problem appeared.

Is the cooling fan working? - usually if a bulb replacement doesn't solve the problem, and it has been installed correctly, then the safety overheating cutout may be preventing the bulb from working due to a cooling problem - check the fan spins and sound healthy, check all the yents / filters are clear and if you can see the blades, see if they are particularly dirty/dusty. If the fan seems to be fine then the safety cutout itself is likely to be faulty - contact hitachi; http://www.hitachi.co.uk/service/index.jsp And they should be able to give you the details of the nearest service to you. Hope this helps :)

That should say vents, not yents. Sorry :)

Projector bulbs generate alot of heat. Make sure the vents are not blocked or dirty. Check the fan to make sure it is operating properly. Hope this helps.

Red power, blinking red temp

Hi,

if the Lamp error and Temperature error lights are flashing red this means that there are two separate errors.

  • A flashing lamp light means the lamp failed to ignite. It could be a lamp driver problem or lamp failure. Replace the lamp to resolve the issue. If the issue is not resolved, then service the projector.
  • A flashing Temperature light signals a fan error. Turn the projector off and allow it to cool down. If the light is still flashing after the projector is turned back on, service the projector.
Goodluck..

Benq w1000 project not turning on

Look at the manual page 34, for the indicator messages. I suspect it's the same problem I have (which I haven't had formally diagnosed yet!), which I believe is a defective fan. My projector had been making a really loud noise on startup, which varied in length and volume. Recently the projector has taken to turning itself off after being on for about a minute, and the power light flashes green, with the temp and lamp lights flashing red.

The projector turned itself off after couple hours of use and the Temp. red light came on. Power Light turned red instead of orange as usual. After 3hrs I turned it back on, cleaned the dust off the fan...

There are three temp sensor inside the projector and now your projector need full service but if the air filter becomes clogged with dust, the internal temperature of the projector will rise, the TEMP indicator will illuminate and the projector's power will turn off (the TEMP indicator will flash after the power is turned off) The air filter should be cleaned every 100 hours of use.
If you clean the filter with a vacuum cleaner to clean off any accumulated dust. then your projector working normally
