Question about Quantaray AF 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6 High Speed Auto Focus Zoom for Minolta
A Minolta-mount lens of any brand will not fit on a Sony Alpha. For the most part, lens mounts are not interchangeable between manufacturers.
There are always exceptions to the rule, so Pentax SLR lenses will fit both on Pentax cameras and on Samsung SLRs as well.
Third party lens makers like Quantaray, Sigma, Tamron and others all use different lens mounts for the particular brand of SLR they are intended to be used upon. There is a chance you could find a camera shop to change the lens mount on a 3rd party lens, if you look hard enough.

here is a link to an ebay search for minolta to canon eos adapter, they sell for just about every camera. i know it sucks, buying a new camera that wont work with your favorite lens, but i think you might be better served focusing (couldnt help myself) on camera features and pricing. i own a canon dslr and love it. sigma has a cool dslr. it has a three layer image sensor, with a removable on sensor ir filter. the ir filter thing is really cool.
