I am using this projector in the classroom and I wanted to show a video clip. I can see the clip on my pc using windows media player. It works perectly on my computer. However, when I try to view the clip through the projector, all I see is the windows media clip viewer. I can hear the clip playing and I can see the timeline showing that it is playing, but no picture is visible. It does this if I try to use it in powerpoint as well. This occurs if I use winamp also. I am using an acer computer. Any suggestions?
Profane, I hope you read this as a follow-up. I downloaded the XP codec and now I have problems. All of my players are playing too fast. When I log on to the internet and try to play anything, the clips play to fast i.e. msn video. I have tried re-installing all of the players. I have tried uninstalling the codecs. No difference. Any other suggestions on how to clean this up?
Sounds like it could possible be a codec problem on the computer http://www.free-codecs.com/ try there for the appropiate codec for the file type your trying to play hope that helps

I would also blame Windows 8 if the movies you played worked before you got the new laptop. To rule this out, connect another laptop (maybe another Dell with the same operating system) to the projector and play an HD-disc on that laptop.
If it works, then you'll know its a compatibility problem with the laptop operating system you're using.
there's something wrong on your player check if the video is supported by the player by updating the codec of the player download codec pack for windows media player at download.com or softpedia.com
This sounds like a driver or software issue. Check Dell's support site for any projector related drivers or software, and also check the projector manufacturer's site for drivers or software. You might also look for any Windows media player updates.
I have the same model of Acer and it worked in all of my classroom LCD with powerpoint lectures and with a SONY TV at home. Try right-clicking your screen to view the NVIDIA control panel. Configure "dual" multiple display (costumize to "dual" configuration or "forced-detect."
You will need to have a dvi to vga converter. If you have a Macbook, it is a mini dvi to vga. You can get this adapter direct from Apple for about $20. A wireless connection is not available with this model projector.
