When I power up the computer the monitor has no display, although the green power light is lit. If I unplug the power supply at that monitor, wait a few seconds and plug it back in, it then works fine. This has been going on for four consecutive days.

Did you move it recently? If you did, you might want to make sure that the plug is all the way in on the back of the monitor, not just having it plugged in to a outlet.

Turn on computer and Acer Monitor ( AL1913) and nothing but black screen. Know the computer is good as I hooked another monitor to it and worked fine. Frank

fbwhite, Was your screen also BLANK, along with it being BLACK? The flashlight test would have told you! Yes, it could be both, or just BLACK. Read my FIXYA profile and that of other FIXYA tech's (budmrtn and buddymc) and it will become crystal clear to you the problem your monitor has and the options you have open to you. Good luck with the repair. 12fixlouie

Hoe do I remove teh attached stand on an ACER AL 1913?

Where the footpiece joins up with the screen, you'll find a round cover from left to right which just clips in. carefully squeeze the ends and pull away untill released. under the cover you'll find four screws that holds the footpiece and screen together. Good Luck, jus004

Monitor flickers and then goes blank

I had exactly this problem.
I fixed my AL2021 by replacing the output caps on the power board. $4 repair. Pull the thing apart (I posted somewhere on fixya how to do it, but it's simple) and replace the 1000uF, 680uF and 470uF caps on the end of the power board.
