Recent upgrade by Virgin Media left my setting for TV on EXT 5. Okay initially but has recently changed. When I switch on power TV opens up on EXT 2 with just a blue screen and I have to click thru EXT 3, EXT 4, EXT 4S, EXT 5 which brings up the TV programmes. How do I set up for EXT 5 to open up as soon as I switch on the TV ???

By default, the TV stores memory of last settings in its memory ic, when you switch off. By modifying the input devices, you have increased the number of settings to be stored, which might be beyond its capacity to store and it switches to default settings. Try resetting to the desired input and locking the settings.

SOURCE: my olevia 42 in power doesnot come on. blue light

You may be aware that Olevia is bankrupt and apparently Emerson bought the leftovers and is offering service but no parts sales.
I found this thread discussing antoher model's various problems but I believe your power supply has likely failed.
Olevia thread
If it is the type of failure related to the switched-mode power supply, these can be repaired by a properly equipped tech; I've done hundreds of them while still in business (which I am no longer).

How to remove small popup bottom left of Hitachi smart tv screen.

A little popup that appears in the lower left corner of your Hitachi smart TV screen may be related to one of the TV's settings or capabilities. You can attempt the following actions to get rid of it:

1.Investigate notifications:

Smart TVs occasionally show notifications for different events or upgrades. If there are any notifications, look for them and then clear them by following the on-screen directions.
2.Applications and Inputs:

Make sure all programmes and inputs are closed. The popup may occasionally be connected to an input source or app, which can be closed to get rid of it.
3.On-Screen Display (OSD) Off:
There might be an OSD option in the settings menu on Hitachi TVs. Try disabling OSD or changing its settings to see if it gets rid of the popup.
Verify any software/firmware updates:

4.Make that the most recent firmware or software upgrades are installed on your TV. Pop-up windows may appear as a result of faults in outdated software. Look for a software update option in the TV's settings menu.
5.Firmware Reset:
You can conduct a factory reset on your TV if the problem persists after you've tried various troubleshooting measures. The default values for all settings will be restored as a result. Make cautious to back up any crucial data before doing a factory reset because doing so will also remove any customised settings and data.
6.Message Hitachi Support here:
If none of the aforementioned fixes the problem, it's a good idea to get in touch with Hitachi customer service or refer to the TV's user manual for detailed instructions on how to get rid of the popup.
Regarding External Devices:

7.The popup may be related to any external devices you have connected to your TV, like a cable box or game console. Make sure that these gadgets are operating properly and that the settings have been changed as necessary.
Keep in mind that depending on the type and software version of your Hitachi smart TV, the precise processes and options may change. For instructions unique to your TV model, consult the user manual, or go to the Hitachi website for further help options.

Having problems gettin sky channels through archos i get to setting infrared settings and can not get code.dont know wether to connect dvr t the tv or the sky box

Remove the DVR station from the box, and attach the DVR adapter plate (found in the
DEVICE box); it is correctly attached when it clicks on.
-Take the Black Audio/video Marked "output" cable, and insert the connections into the corresponding coloured sockets, yellow>yellow, green> green etc. Make sure they are
inserted into the TOP row on the back of the DVR Station "Marked Out". The remaining
black connector should be plugged into the SW socket, which can be found underneath
the orange socket on the back of the DVR station. (If after setting up your ARCHOS the
picture is very green remove the black cable from the SW socket)
-Plug the SCART connector into the SCART socket on your TV set. These are usually
marked AV1, AV2, or Ext 1, Ext 2, L1, L2, Line in 1, Line in 2, Aux 1, Aux 2, make sure you
select the corresponding channel above (ie AV1 AV2 etc) on your TV set when you turn on
the TV.
-Attach the UK plug adapter to the Mains charger, and plug the charger into the DC-In
socket on the back right of the DVR station. Turn the mains on at the socket.
-Insert the powered off ARCHOS unit onto the DVR station, the unit will now power on,
and ask if you want to 'Switch to TV out', select 'Okay'. The 'TV output configuration' set
up will load up. Select 'Okay'.
-TV connection: When your DEVICE is connected to the optional DVR Station you need to
select the type of video output (Composite, S-video, component, RGB, HDMI etc), based
on how you have connected the DVR Station to your TV and what possibilities your TV will
allow. For the cables supplied and the instructions aboce you will need to select either
RGB or Composite. Use the arrows to go through the options and select either RGB or
Composite.
-TV Standard: this should be set to PAL (Europe). Select 'Next'.
-Now you need to test the settings, select 'Okay', the ARCHOS home screen should now
be visible on your TV set. If you have nothing showing on your TV, scroll through the
AV/Ext channels, the channel will correspond to the AV/Ext socket you connected the
cable to on your TV set. Use the ARCHOS remote to select 'Okay'; you have now set up
the output connection settings for your DVR station.
-You may need to adjust your output from the ARCHOS to match your TV, from the "TV
Format" options. Use the arrows on the ARCHOS remote to select the format of your TV
screen, so the ARCHOS unit outputs the correct picture size (ie 4:3 / 16:9 etc). Use the
arrows on the remote to select 'Next'.

How do i access hdmi 2 on my lcd32761hdf tv. i have cable (virgin) in hdmi1, dvd in ext 1 & the wii in ext 2. i now have a ps3 i would like to set up.

You can't access it simply because it doesn't exist - your tv has only one HDMI jack.
Your only option is to use a HDMI switch, one like

TELEVISON MODEL:SAMSUNG LE32B450C4W my gran just recieved this tv today she also use virgin media digital on tuning in the television i noticed i could not find digital tv and that i had to go through...

In short: No.

Virgin Media is received via an external box and there is no way to simply program the tv so that your gran can just press one number.

There is a complicated way, but it would be even more confusing. Some Virgin boxes have an RF (i.e. regular tv aerial) output in addition to the usual Scart output. The RF output can be tuned into a regular terrestrial channel, but reception quality is poor compared to using the Scart. Your gran will have to remember to ensure the tv is set to terrestrial reception and to use the source button and ext when she wants to go back to Virgin. This also will not work when the tv uses it's own inbuilt digital Freeview receiver so it's both confusing and useless after the digital switchover.

Either leave the TV permanently set to ext and tell your gran to only ever use the Virgin remote to change channels, or be patient with her as she takes time to learn how to select between terrestrial, Freeview and Virgin.

It's less than ideal and when I worked for a tv rental company this kind of complication was a major pain for older customers (and younger non tech savvy ones!)

It may also be worth looking for a simplified universal remote control with clear buttons. There is one which has large buttons but the controller is almost the size of a sheet of A4 paper.

TV suddenly lost colour - gone black and white Virgin Media.

most likely the problem is due to a "lock up" you need to reset the system, unplug the set, and look in the back panel (I am assuming it is a digital (flat screen tv?) for a small (usuall) red nipple, again making sure the power is unplugged, depress the nipple with a bll point pen for about 5 seconds, wait a few minuets, and plug the set back in, you will most likely need to go to your menu for set up again, but you will be starting with a clean slate (so to sleak) and the tuner should then correctly pass the signal though

My Phillips 32pw8759 TV screen is Permanently blank

There might have been a power surge that had damaged the two units. For the reset, having the tv unplugged overnight should do it. If it does not work you may want to check the power supply of the tv for leaking capacitors or burned resistors or loose solders.

If you have to keep on changing the settings and the tv will not store them then there is a fault with the internal memory of the tv. If you can return the tv or call out a competant technician. Hope this helps.
