How do I connect a Polkaudio powered subwoofer (psw 125)

I am usings a Hafler preamp with no subwoofer output connected to a 3 way B&K power amp. The power amp as a right, left and center inputs along with right, left and center outputs for speaker wire. Currently hooked up are speakers right and left not the center channel. From the preamp currently have two interconnets from the outputs to power amp.

The preamp has another set of outputs but I want to connect so that all three channels are playing at the same time. Help!!!!!!

How to hook up psw350 polkaudio powered subwoofer

A powered subwoofer is fed the sw line output provided by the receiver. If lacking, then the woofer might have connections to it from the speaker outputs of your receiver.

Connect them in phase, make sure your sw is in phase with other speakers and balance the sw output.

4-8 Ohm Output Overpowered?

You weren't by chance connecting a powered subwoofer to the standard speaker channels? Most powered subs require a dedicated output from the amp, otherwise you would be amplifying the signal twice over!

On my Technics SU-G90 where do I connect the subwoofer

Some amps have a single RCA socket for a powered sub. If it has not got one of these then the amp has no output for a powered sub. If so then you can only use a none powered subwoofer, which will connect via the speakers of the amp, see the subwoofer manual for how to do this.

What amp/receiver are you using? Have you plugged the sub woofer cable to LFE output on the amp? Are you using the right subwoofer cable? Have you enabled the amp to use the subwoofer?

OVERLOAD

First of all the KEF is a powered sub which means that it wants a line level signal NOT a speaker level. Send the signal from a tape output or pre-amp output to the sub input. The overload is because the impedence load for the speaker output is too low and looks like a short to the amp. Continued attempts to connect the system as described will result in damage to the output section of the amp.

Please let me know if you need more info.
