When replacing the printhead you will see a number of circles at the back of the print head , you press on this and the print head will snap in place, I found this very difficult initially as you do need to use some force. Actually I phoned Kodak help line and they directed me how to replace the print head on the phone, Kodak appear quite happy to solve problems and if you find it still difficult they will guide you. Apparently these kodak printheads are a common fault and need a regular replacement when the printing loses colour!!

Installation instructions for printhead for Kodak 5300 All-In-One printer
Do you CHARGE for information which should have been provided FREE with the printhead? Included with the printhead was an internet number for prodiving instructions, but they were not provided at this number.
Most fortunately, I located some old instructions which I already had!
You can email tech support for instructions or call the toll free number below. These are the instructions for my KODAK 5100 from Kodak tech support.
Thank you for contacting Kodak technical support. If you should have any questions regarding the replacement of the printhead for your KODAK All-in-One Printer, support is available at 1.800.421.6699, 7:00 A.M. to midnight, 7 days a week.
Please check the following information how to install it:
a) Follow these instructions for step-by-step guidance on how to remove and replace your printhead. b) If your printer is not powered on, press ON. c) Lift the printer access door and wait for the carriage to move to the center position. d) Remove any paper that may be loaded in the printer. e) Remove both ink cartridges. f) Unlatch the used printhead by pressing the button on the left. g) Lift the used printhead out of the carriage. h ) Remove the 3 plastic protective shields from the new printhead. i) Place the printhead into the carriage j) Push firmly against the back wall of the printehad until you hear a load snap. k) Intall the new ink cartridges and make sure you hear the click into position.
