Question about Televison & Video
My tv is a rca ps60682 made in 1993. as i was watching one day it stated to make a loud popping, sizzling sound. i tried to turn it off and it would not so i unplugged it for a few minutes. when i replugged it in it continued to make the same noise. i then unplugged it for several hours. it never came back on. when i plug it in and press on/off button it makes a pop sound. can u help me?
I guess loud sizzling was from High Voltage Splitter in your TV. HV seems cracked and leaking high voltage.
You can observe and confirm it by removing back cover and power up TV from distance and check at rear of TV. Please take care and there should be little dark to observe arc from HV splitter.
If this is the case, HV splitter available in Part Store.
