I have a Maytag-model LAT9520AAE, but I cannot locate this exact model on the FixYa site. The Maytag-model LAT3600A was the closest one to a match I could find. I have a large leak coming from somewhere around the drum of the washer during each washer cycle. I have not taken anything apart yet so I cannot tell exactly where the source of the leak is coming from. What can I do or where do I begin with troubleshooting this problem. Can you let me know in detail, what to remove/disassemble and how to find the source of the leak? Also, what does this sound like? From what I have read it sounds like I may have a faulty basket gasket or a faulty tub seal and bearing. If this is the case, are these parts expensive? This leak has happened on 2 other occasions in the last year, but now it leaks during every wash load cycle. Thanks for any help, Kevin B

Gendos,
I removed front panel and found that the leak is coming from directly underneath the bottom of the tub in the middle where the shaft goes into bottom of tub during fill mode. There is a black rubber piece (gasket) that goes around shaft directly on bottom of tub. The leak is coming from around that black rubber piece.
Hope picture helps. This is looking underneath on bottom of tub. Leak is coming from the middle of tub.
What's next? Thanks,
We decided to buy a new washing machine because I just had back surgery and could not get down on the floor to fix it. And a repairman wanted to charge almost as much as just buying a new one.
Thanks for the help!
Load the Torpedo Bays !! DIVE DIVE DIVE ..... this is what we had to say when our new Maytag ( 1 year old ) started to leak like it was hit by a
depth charge. Shame on maytag and shame on the chinese for making such
crap. My top loading washer is leaking water from the bottom, and I hand filled it and found out it's leaking right from the drum. So i guess I gotta play taps for this one. Never again Maytag , we will never forget.
