Question about LG RH1999H DVD Recorder/HDD Recorder
The problems you have mentioned have always been solved by replaceing the MPEG printed circuit board and the dvd loader. part numbers for these parts can be found on the parts inside the unit. all barnds are the same, they will all break down, get the longest warranty and if u are wishing to keep it for 5+ years take an extended warranty, so many times i have opened a sony tv with lg parts inside or a panasonic with samsung parts inside. hope this helps.

When you put the DVD in, you mean it will not launch the appropriate player to start playback of the video?
Maybe your autoplay settings are messed up.
Try launching your movie playback software and attempt to manually play the disc and see if this works.
Another thing, is your drive listed under my computer?

Does it happen for all dvd disc or some particular dvd disc. If it is with some particular disc then clean the dvd and try them. If the problem exist for all the dvd then try to clean the lens by dvd lens cleaner and try to play. dvd lens cleaner will be available in dvd stores.
