Question about Evesham PC Desktops

1 Answer

Hi there, my viewsonic monitor VX912 is not getting a signal from my computer. I first checked to see if the connections were good. No joy ther! so I then tried to see if the cable was faulty(my monitor has two inputs:D-SUB a blue cable and DVI which has a white cable) by connecting my laptops TV-OUT port to my TVs PC port. Got a signal but then after a while a message came up saying "unsupported signal please set PC output" and then I lost the signal, so I guess the cable is fine?I did the same with my laptop, connected the TV-OUT port but this time to my monitor. The same thing happened, My monitor came on for a while and then went into standby, so the signal was lost. Does this mean so far that both the cable and the monitor work? Please Help!! Many ThanksMy e-mail address is: purgarn_meyers@yahoo.co.uk

Is your tv HD, it may have worked on the digital signal, but perhaps it switched to a HD program, and it doesnot support that HD signal, If not it may be a switching problem

ViewSonic N1930w-2M turning on in gray in stead of color and will not link to computer

Sounds like like the viewsonic has seen it's better days or the Video Card in the computer is bad. To isolate the problem try connecting another monitor to the computer. Borrow a monitor from a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker and connect it to the computer. If the Borrowed monitor displays correctly, then your original ViewSonic is bad. If the Borrowed monitor does the same as your original ViewSonic, then the Video Card in the computer is bad.

Vsonic flat screen monitor need blink codes

hi do you mean you are asking for the blinking codes on your viewsonic pc monitor?. usually lcd monitor for pc has no blinking codes, if your monitor just only a blinking indicator and won't turn on, you must check first the source from your pc if their is a signal to turn on the monitor. if just blinking only then won't turn on you must check the power supply of the monitor usually the main cause is bulging capacitor. just replace it with the same value and rating thanks for consulting the fixya good luck.

No signal to monitor

Check all conections between the tower and the screen, make sure all are secure, if no joy, unplug the tower and remove the side panel to see if the graphics card is in securely, maybe take the graphics card out and put it back in again to be sure. If you have another monitor or monitor cable try replacing to see if the situation improves.

The 19 inch model no vs11369 (vg930m)moniter is showing no signal on screen .please help detect the problem

Usually when you get that message it can be one of two things.

1st Check the cable that hooks to the monitor side. Then check it at the computer side. By check I mean to disconnect it an rehook it up again so you no it is seated correctly. On some monitors its hard wired so you cant check the monitor side.

2nd if you have access to a second monitor (after checking the cables on your monitor first). Disconnect your current monitor and hook up the test monitor. If you continue to get the no signal message then you have a defective video (graphics) card and you will need to replace it.

I hope this helps you out, if it does please give me a YES that I did assist you. Thank you.

No signal or cable disconnected or power problem

Hi,
check the black cable with big blue connector at the back of the monitor if its connected properly. Also follow the cable and check if its securely attached at the back of the system tower. if the cables are connected properly check if the cable is connected to the correct port at the back of the system tower. Some computers have two places to connect this cable one towards the top and other towards the bottom of the system, tower.

Thanks for using fixya

Wont start up

Check physical connections first, check monitor cable if securely plugged in and then check power light of monitor. If power light on monitor is amber or yellow it means that monitor is not getting a signal from cpu/ tower. Try to do a power drain on the computer, remove power cable at the back of the computer and then press and hold the power button for 10 secs, after that plug in power cable again and restart the computer.Check if there is any connection if not then try to use another monitor, a known good one. If you get a video from another monitor it means monitor is already defective.

My cpu has power but i cant see anything on my monitor

Check that the Monitor power cable is firmly connected to the mains and the back of the monitor. Do u have the Power light on in front of the monitor?
Check the Signal cable running from the Computer to the Monitor. Is it firmly fixed at both ends?
If still no joy, plug a known working monitor to your computer. If u get a display, then your monitor might have gone bad or it might have been set to the lowest brightness (check the setting knob).
If swap monitor does not also work, then your Display (VGA) card is suspect, faulty. You may want to replace your VGA card.

My monitor has a power issue, its over 3 yrs old, and past warranty, but i know it only needs a replacement part i just dont what, the model is vx912 The problem, when i turn it on connected to display...

You need to get/buy/download the service manual and
schematics, so you can then trace and analyze the circuit.

A strong knowledge of electronics is required to do this.

Analysis is complicated by the fact that all key functions
within the monitor are controlled by software running on
undocumented digital control chips. The chips are called
ASICs, or application specific integrated circuits, custom
designed for the manufacturer, and programmed with secret
software.

Beyond obvious voltage and continuity checks outside
of these chips, there is little to analyze or repair in a modern
electronic appliance.

There is no magic solution nor red and green "what chu mah
callit to replace"

I have thirty years in electronics and a degree in computer
electronics, yet I stopped fixing monitors years ago.
There is no percentage in it.

I just bought 4 x 21" hi-resolution wide screen monitors,
with 5 Millisecond pixel time constants and 1000:1 contrast
ration for $180 each,

and sold of my 3 year old monitors for 15 bucks each at
a garage sale.
