Which Operating System are we using? When was the last time you were able to use he computer correctly? There must be some software which loads at start up and is creating issues. You might need to restore the system to the last known good configuration. good luck

Unit shut's off when trying to load anything.

Hold old is the computer? Does it freeze up before it shuts down, if so then the caps on the motherboard are probably bad.

Compaq nc6220 freezes during POST

Start in Safe Mode by pressing F8 during boot. Then...

Try disabling startup programs. Go to Start > Run (search in Win 7) and type MSConfig > Startup tab and uncheck anything that you don't want Windows to load automatically. It will make Windows boot faster and use less resources while running.

This just disables them in startup. Programs will still load, but when you initiate.

When attempting to load graphics, computer slows drastically or shuts down (returns to homepage). Is this due to the built in graphics, or???

Sounds like not enough resources such as RAM and CPU. Check Performance in Task-Mananger (CTRL-ALT-DELETE).

Try disabling startup programs from loading in the first place. Go to Start > Run (search in Win 7) and type MSConfig > Startup tab and uncheck anything that you don't want Windows to load automatically.

This is my daughter's computer. It freezes, it shuts down, it skips characters when typing. She is a senior in high school and is getting so frustrated trying to do her homework!

Download a copy of CCleaner and run a cleaning on it. After that use the registry cleaning function on it (making sure to save a back up of the registry of course). Do this once a month.

There is a RAM testing program that you can download and install onto a thumbdrive that will test your RAM to make sure if isn't faulty. Memtest86+ is a good one. You can download it here. I have used the "Auto-installer for USB key" to create a thumbdrive that will load the program when you start the computer. Once you have installed it on the thumbdrive, restart the computer with the thumbdrive in, and set the BIOS to load the USB before the HDD in the boot device order. (generic directions here) If you can, test only one stick of RAM at a time. This was if there is a problem detected then you will know which stick of RAM is the troublemaker.

Finally, download a good disk defragmenting program and defrag the hard drive.

Ps3 restoring problem

Does it give you an option to start without restore? Another option is to unplug it completely for 30 seconds. Mine sometimes does this too, but shutting it off almost always works

I am unable to type anything on my laptop although cursor is flashing

a flashing cursor is indicative of programs running the backround, and a freeze indicates too many things running in the backround, such as the page you are on is loading files or photos. or perhaps a previous page is still loading,or one of the auto updaters are downloading drivers or perhaps you are multitasking {working several pages at on time } in any case it is necessary to reduce processor usage by reducing the number of running programs. If in fact none of this is the case, close all pages and return to desktop. click start ,programs, accessories, system tools. disk defragmenter. click defragment. wait for program to finish and close out all programs. shut down computer, and pull power plug for at least 30 seconds. restart computer, it should be better.
Good Luck !

Im trying to install the program onto my computer with no luck.

This is a common driver issue that exists with many electronics. The best way to solve this for your particular camera (and I apologize for not knowing about your particular camera) is to go online and search for something like "{put your model number here] is not recognized" in your favorite search engine. You will get plenty of help. . As an aside, try opening "My Computer" and seeing if the camera mounts as a drive. If it does not show up, a little known fix for usb devices not being recognized is to shut down (properly) the computer, unplug it for a couple minutes, plug it in, and restarting it. This resets the motherboard. Good luck.

I have an Acer Labtop 4620z When I turn it on it Freezes after The Desk top Loads... HELP.. Won't let me connect .. virus disks freeze as well ???

Before the desktop tries to load, hit the F12 key a few times until the boot choices menu loads on the screen. Choose to load it in "safe mode with networking"
Once the computer starts up, find all your data, music, pictures you want to save, and back them onto a CD, or external hard drive.
Next, shut off the computer, restart it, and hit the delete, or F2 keyseveral times until it loads the "setup" page. Once you are in the setup page, you need to find the choices for what boots first.
Choose to boot from the CDROM drive. Save the settings. Insert the recovery CD into the drive. shut the PC off. Restart the PC, once the recovery CD starts, then follow the on screen prompts to reinstall the operating system etc.
If this does not work then you have hardware failure of some kind, and need to have someone local look at it, and figure it out from there.

Sansa e250 computer problems

Try using Windows Media Player instead, and see if you get the same result. If it loads in Windows Media Player, then the problem is with WinAmp and not your Mp3 player. When you say it loads half-way, do you mean it loads half the songs and then shuts off? Is the Sansa running on low battery? WinAmp has some kind of update released in the past week - did you download the update, and then experience the problem? It's probably not this, because other users have had the same problem that you are reporting since at least Christmas 2007.

The following is an advice from another Sansa user, so I haven't been able to verify it myself:
"I have to have WinAmp open and a song playing then connect my player and then it will work fine. If I just connect my player then start WinAmp it crashes"

If all of the above fails, reformat your player and start over from scratch. Let me know how everything works out - this is an issue that not even the Sansa website seems to have an answer for.
