If your laptop is still under warranty, installing WinXP will void the warranty. It's very tricky. I'd suggest getting another PC with Internet connection and search and download drivers as needed for your 1525. Good luck.
sorry u can't download windows XP u should purchase it and remove vista and install windows XP after installing u should download drivers for the dell laptop Inspiron 1525 of windows XP because vista is pre installed operating system including with drivers
The reason why xp does not see the hard drive durin setup is the ahci option enabled in the bios. you need to change the option to ata. to do that power on the system and tap f2 at the dell logo. in the bios change the stat operations to ata. the option most likely is listed under drivers. you may also have to disble flash cache from the bios. once the option is disabled hit esc and save and exit. boot from the XP cd and run the setup. at the partations screen delete the c drive and partation it according to the size you need for xp and leave the rest for vista. install XP and the drivers from support.dell.com. After XP is ready to use put in the Vista DVD once in XP and install Vista on the unpartationed space left from the c drive.
