Change channels on DCT646

I have 2 dct646 phone setups which include 2 base stations and 2 charging stations. What I have now is 1 base station plugged into my wall jack which is a verizon service hooked to it. The other base station is plugged into a broadband modem. At the present I only have 1 phone that will work on my broadband line and 3 phones work off of the original verizon line. How can I make 1 of these 3 phone work with the broadband line ? So that I will end up with 2 phones for each system.

I don't know as there is an actual way to directly change channels as you are requesting. However you can re-register one of the handsets to the base that is connected to your broadband by following the following instructions that are copied from the users manual.

From page 27 of the user guide

De-register the Handset
1) Enter the System Reset menu, and then the Deregister HS
submenu (see "Entering the Menu" on page 21).
2) Press ring/vol/∧ or ring/vol/∨ to select the handset ID
to be de-registered from the list, and then press
select/ . D e r e g i s t e r H S ? appears.
3) Press select/ . You will hear a confirmation tone.
When de-registration is complete, D e r e g i s t r a t i o n
C o m p l e t e appears.
4) After de-registering the handset, move to "Replacing the
Base Setting" below.

Replacing the Base Setting
1) Enter the System Reset menu, and then the Replacing
Base submenu (see "Entering the Menu" on page 21).
R e p l a c e b a s e ? appears.
2) Press select/ . You will hear a confirmation tone.
The base information will be deleted.
When replacing the base is complete, P l a c e h a n d s e t o n m a i n b a s e t o r e g i s t e r
appears, register the handset to the new base.

From page 50 of the users guide-

If you purchase an extra handset, you need to register the handset to the base before
use. Only one handset can be registered at a time.
The handset ID for the supplied handset(s) was assigned at
the factory, which has #1 or #2 in the display (#2 for
models that have two handsets in packaging). When you
register additional handset to the base, the handset ID will
be assigned.
1) Before registering the extra handset,
the battery pack must be charged for
15-20 hours.
2) Place the extra handset in the main base unit
to begin registration.
3) While the handset is registering, H a n d s e t
R e g i s t e r i n g will appear in the LCD.
When R e g i s t r a t i o n C o m p l e t e is displayed,
the handset has been registered to the base.
If R e g i s t r a t i o n F a i l e d appears, please try
these steps again.

If you have any trouble understanding these instructions, you can download a copy of the users manual from this link:

Hope this helps you solve your issue and ifyou have any questions, please feel free to get back to me.
Have a super day!

If you purchase a DCX640 extra handset, please register the handset to the original/main
base before use. The DCX640 will not operate until it is registered.
• If you change a Global setting in one handset, you change that particular setting for all
registered handsets. All other settings (not included under Global Setup), must be set
separately through each handset.

Why can't I receive input from the outside sending unit?

Make sure that all the batteries are good!!
This procedure outlines the typical process to pair the sensor and base.
Base Station Battery Installation

·Remove the printed vinyl label from the LCD screen of the base station
·Position the remote sensor near the base station
·Open the battery compartment at the back of the base station and insert (2) AA batteries according to the polarity markings. Replace the battery compartment cover.
·Within a short time the RF signal icon (located to the left of the outdoor temperature channel indicator) will start flashing. This indicates that the base station is ready to pick up the RF outdoor temperature signal from the remote sensor. It will continue to flash for 3 minutes or until the signal from the remote sensor is detected.

Register the Remote Sensor
·Open the battery compartment at the back of the remote sensor and slide the channel selector switch to your desired channel. For the first remote you may select any channel, for additional remotes select any unused channel
·Insert (2) AAA batteries according to the polarity markings. Be sure to install the batteries in the remote within the time that the RF signal icon is flashing on the base station. 1541 WeatherGuide Wireless Weather Forecaster with Barometer

Is the uniden 3105 additional handset compatible with the n32 base station? i was told it was by harvey norman, but it says registration failed..how do i do it?

It should register once it is charged and put into the cradle of the base station.the channels are selected automatically by the base station.the only time it doesn't is when you try using a handset for 2.4ghz system when the base is 5ghz or vice versa.

Phone has been charging but still won't turn on

Let me suggest that you unplug all stations including the base and disconnect base from phone line. Waite 5 minutes and then plug base station into phone line, and plug all units in again. Most have an automatic procedure of finding all the remotes if yours has manual method do that.

Uniden DSS7855+1, flashing ''welcome! please wait...'', wont work

This is not a direct solution to your problem, but a workaround for a similar situation. I have two headsets and two charging stations. One of the headsets was stuck with the message ''Welcome! please wait''. When I put the phone on the charging station it usually sits on nothing would happen, but when I put it on the other station the phone came back to life. The non-working charging station will still charge the phone so it is worth keeping.

If you have a phone that works off a broadband modem, that is a VoIP phone. That will not work with a home phone line. I'm assuming Verizon is your local Telephone carrier that provides your local dial tone.
The broadband modem would have the phone number of whatever VoIP phone service you have.

For example, cable-based Internet access that uses a cable modem that is provided by your ISP. • The Microsoft Broadband Networking Setup CD-ROM. • The Microsoft MN-500 Wireless Base Station. • The Ethernet cable that came with your base station. • The AC power supply. • The blank floppy disk.Check the following: • On computers that are running Microsoft Windows 2000 or Microsoft Windows XP, you must be a member of the Administrators group to set up a network. If you cannot run Setup, click Log Off on the Start menu, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE, and then log on with as an administrator. • Turn off any firewall or Internet connection sharing software on your computers. Your base station replaces these functions. The Setup Wizard cannot continue if they are enabled. • Do you have a Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) Internet connection or a static Internet Protocol (IP) address? The Setup Wizard prompts you to type your user name, password, and service name for a PPPoE connection. For a static IP address, you must have the IP, subnet, and ISP gateway addresses. If you have one of these types of connections, gather this information from your ISP.

If the Setup Wizard does not start automatically, click Start, click My Computer, double-click the CD-ROM icon, and then double-click Setup or Setup.exe. 2. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the software. 3. In the second part of the installation, select the option to set up the wireless base station, and then continue through the rest of the Setup Wizard. 4. When the Setup Wizard instructs you to connect your wireless base station, position the wireless base station close to your modem and computer, and near the center of your intended network area. If you want to set up the wireless base station vertically, attach the included stand. 5. On the back of your computer, unplug the Ethernet cable that connects your computer to your broadband modem. Leave the other end of the cable plugged in to the modem. 6. Plug the cable in to the "To Modem" port on the back of the base station. The base station is now connected to your modem. 7. Plug one end of the blue Ethernet cable that came with your base station in to the Ethernet port that is labeled 1 on the back of the base station. Plug the other end into the Ethernet port on the back of your computer. This is the same port from which you just disconnected the modem cable.

Important The modem must use its original Ethernet cable or one of the same type to connect to the base station. 8. Plug one end of the power supply that came with your base station into the power jack on the back of the base station. Plug the other end into an electrical outlet. The power indicator light on the front of the base station should turn on. 9. Return to the Setup Wizard, click Next, and then go to Part 3 of this article.
Part 3: Configure the Base Station and Network Settings loadTOCNode(2, 'summary'); Continue to follow the instructions on the screen to configure your wireless network settings: 1. Setup prompts you to enable wireless security (WEP). Microsoft recommends that you enable WEP. 2. Setup prompts you to save your network settings to a floppy disk for use in later installations. A blank floppy disk is provided for this purpose. If you do not save to a disk, you receive a list of network settings to print or write down. 3. Click Finish to exit Setup, and then remove the Setup CD-ROM from the CD-ROM drive and the floppy disk from the floppy disk drive. You can use the same CD-ROM and floppy disk to set up additional computers on your network.
Part 4: Test Your Network loadTOCNode(2, 'summary'); 1. View the status of your network in the Broadband Network Utility (BNU). Make sure that you can see your base station and the computer that is connected to it in the BNU status screen: a. Click Start, point to All Programs, and then double-click Microsoft Broadband Network Utility. b. View the information on the Network Status screen. 2. If your broadband Internet connection is being shared through your wireless network, start your Web browser program, and then try to visit a Web site. If your network is working properly, you have access to the Internet from the computer you just set up.
