Cannot get rear aux input source to work on pioneer deh-p6800mp. no option in function to able/disable that function. also would like to know the name of the type of plug that is used for front aux. input...

The type of plug on the front aux is a 2.5mm plug similar to what cell phones use. You need a stereo 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter, then you can run a chord with a 3.5mm jack on both ends to an iPod or some other type of mp3 player.

I Found the 7600 and 7800 on Pioneer USA's site. No 7700. If it's not a US model, go to their homepage from the above link and select your country. Otherwise, most of the features on these decks should be the same as yours. Hope this helps

Hook an ipod to Pioneer DEH-16

The RCA jacks on the rear of the head unit are rear pre-amp outputs. (google it if you need an explination on what purpose they serve or see the installation guide) With that said, I am able to play my mp3 player through them but since they are 'rear' pre-amp outputs my mp3s only play on the rear speakers. see this post for more...

IPOD ADAPTOR

you have to buy the ipod connection kit to pioneer, but if your deck have RCA input at the back..all you need is Y cable 2 (RCA male - 35mm jack)

RCA will be connected to DECK, 35 mm jack to your ipod.

to use your ipod...change the input setting on your deck to AUX (auxillary) most deck have this for CD Changer connection

Good Luck

Sorry to tell you, but that jack is for a wired remote. But if you want to hook up an mp3 player to it you can buy an accessory that plugs into. http://www.google.com/products?q=ip-bus+aux&hl=en&show=dd this is a link to google shopping that will have a bunch of choices if you have an ipod or not. good luck

Ipod hookup

I believe that you are lucky since the "P" in the model number of the deck indicates and extra input source on the rear of your deck. This is used right now by your changer. You need to replace the changer with the Ipod and you are done. Stereo mini to dual rca's and you are done.
