- Same problem as stated, power button when booting goes yellow, goes green, and so on, and those gruesome popping noises, also.

(Also have problems when working with a DOS-based program, but that's beside the point)...

Oh yes,... volume can not be regulated properly, this is a NEW problem which started this week. Just to make the problems complete.

- monitor would come on then show the a message that it was shutting down in 5 sec. and then shuts down. And now the 5 sec message does not come on. I have a green light when I first turn on the monitor and then it will from green to amber ,but the screen remains black. Please help- stan_256

- similar problem. Monitor goes black on boot. Makes a loud popping noise. Computer was working fine. I tried to install a wireless router. Had problems and disconnected router and rebooted system. Monitor died.
Have check power and connection.- puterlady

I'm having the same problem, my power button just flashes now, and it seems like the screen tries to turn on over and over again.

I'm pretty sure its the backlight for the LCD.

If your very handy, go to inventgeek.com and type in LCD backlight fix.
